By admin, on January 7th, 2010 Hi everyone!
Orlando has been in a deep freeze this week, with temperatures as low as the mid-20’s (maybe not a deep freeze, but very cold nonetheless!) Around the parks and resorts, you can see flowers, plants and trees covered up from the cold – often making it look like even more of a winter wonderland (below, left at Epcot and below, right at the Polynesian Resort).

Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee had a rousing final performance yesterday (below, left). Despite rumors to the contrary, this was the last show (though it could possibly come back for the DVD release). Louis the Alligator gets ready to play his trumpet (below, right).

By admin, on January 2nd, 2010 Happy New Year!
I had a long but great day at Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios for New Years Eve! We were able to catch 2 different fireworks shows, and I thought the fireworks at the Studios were amazing! We started first at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, catching a set of Mulch, Sweat and Shears. They were there from afternoon until the fireworks show (below left and right).

By admin, on December 30th, 2009 Hi everyone!
I’ve had a great time visiting Walt Disney World for my first Christmas as a Florida resident! There is so much to see and do, I’ve not been able to see everything – but I’ve tried! I finally was able to see my first (and second) Candlelight Processional for 2009, it was actually very easy to get in the theater without a dinner package. We had great seats both performances! Trumpet players begin the show (below, left) and actor Brian Dennehy fronted the choir, reading the Christmas story from the Bible for several days (below, right).

Christmas is in full swing at the Magic Kingdom, where the Christmas shows and Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade (below, left) are now part of the regular day guest experience. Mickey and Minnie flank a Christmas tree on their own float (below, right).

By admin, on December 12th, 2009 Hi everyone!
The Christmas tree is now up at the Magic Kingdom! We have not visited since last weekend for the parade taping, and it’s nice to see the garland back up and the tree finally in place (below left and right).

By admin, on December 10th, 2009 Hi everyone!
I wanted to share some screen captures from my DVD “Disneyland Parade Classics” of the 1985 Very Merry Christmas Parade. This is unlike any parade you’ll see today! The beginning of this procession features characters and floats from classic films such as Alice in Wonderland, with teapots (below, left) and the playing cards (below, right).
