Marvel Iron Man 3 Monorail Debuts, Splash Mountain Re-Opens, Easter Bunnies Greeting at Magic Kingdom, Grand Floridian Chocolate Easter Egg Display – Photos and Video

Hi everyone!

The Marvel Iron Man 3 monorail (below, left) took it’s first passengers yesterday, as it glided along the express monorail beam between the Magic Kingdom and the Ticket and Transportation Center. This is the third time that a monorail has been wrapped to promote a film, following in the footsteps of the Tron Legacy and Avengers themed monorails. Iron Man (below, right) is shown on the side, along with “Stark Industries”.

Animal Kingdom Lodge Boma Breakfast, Disney’s Visa Photo Place Character Greeting at Epcot, Plaza Restaurant at The Magic Kingdom, MouseSteps Weekly #36- Photos and Video

Hi everyone!

I had a great birthday at Walt Disney World! Our yearly tradition is for Denise to take me to Boma: Flavors of Africa for breakfast (below, left). This is one of our favorite dining locations on property for breakfast or dinner! Boma has a gorgeous design to it, and is reminiscent of an African market (below, right). You can find Denise’s full dining review HERE.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, 2012 Edition Opening Night: Characters, Mickey’s Boo-To-You Parade Changes, HalloWishes and Much More – Photos and Video

Hi everyone!

We had a great time attending the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party of the season!  We had been in California for 11 nights, and missed seeing the Halloween decorations as they were put up. The pumpkins are back in front of the park (below, left), and new decorative lit inflatable balls have been added (below, right). These are in place of the white ones from previous years.

Buy it Now – Jeff Lange Remembers: Frontierland Classics

Jeff Lange takes you on a trip back in time to experience classic Walt Disney World “Frontierland” attractions. This fifth volume in the series features the following:

Splash Mountain (1992)

Join Br’er Rabbit, Br’er Bear and the gang on a trip through the laughing place! Boasting a five story flume drop and 68 Audio-Animatronics, Splash Mountain is one of the world’s most elaborately themed flume rides. This was filmed during the Grand Opening of the attraction in October,1992. From your hollowed out log, you’ll get a glimpse of the 20th Anniversary Surprise Celebration Parade, which will transport you back almost 20 years to when Splash Mountain first opened. Includes coverage of the exterior, queue, and a complete POV ride from the front seat!

Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade (2006)

Nearly 100 targets await as you enter Boothill in the 1850’s. Take your pick of a jail, cemetery, bank, and hotel as you fire with an infra-red rifle toward tombstones, buzzards, a grave digger’s shovel and more! Ricocheting bullets and howling coyotes lend to the atmosphere of this interactive shooting arcade where the scenery animates when you hit the targets!

Country Bear Jamboree (1992)

“Give me a little intro there, Gomer”! Henry, the genial Country Bear host kicks off the show and the curtains open to one of the most beloved attractions at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. This was recorded just as it re-opened after a six year hiatus as “The Country Bear Vacation Hoedown”, and features a cast of 18 bears along with assorted other characters! As you leave Grizzly Hall, you’ll see Melvin, Buff and Max as they welcome you to the Mile Long Bar! Features great close up footage of the bears compiled from multiple recordings!

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (1997)

Clocking in at nearly 200 feet at it’s tallest point, the “Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” takes you on a rollicking, adventurous tour through the mining town of Tumbleweed. You’ll even get a glimpse of Cinderella Castle dressed as a cake for the 25th Anniversary of Walt Disney World! Exiting the attraction, a rainbow is visible as a geyser shoots water high into the air. Enjoy a different vantage point from the Walt Disney World Railroad, viewing Cousin Ed as he floats around in his bathtub and a Mike Fink Keel Boat that is docked nearby! Includes full coverage of the exterior, queue and exit scenes!

Tom Sawyer Island (2006)

Check the Explorer Map to get your bearings before setting out for Tom Sawyer Island, where you’ll be transported to a bygone era. Walking through Old Scratch’s Mystery Mine, you’ll hear the wind and listen to the water as it echos along the walls. View gemstones in their natural splendor! Visiting Harper’s Mill, an owl makes known his presence. There is so much to explorer here, including the Tom Sawyer Scavenger Fort, and we’ll even make a quick stop at Aunt Polly’s – a former restaurant that served meals on an old fashioned porch!

Relive these Frontierland Classics year after year or experience the magic for the first time by purchasing a copy of “Jeff Lange Remembers: Frontierland Classics”.

Magic Kingdom Update – Train Station Construction, Crystal Palace, Cinderella Castle & Splash Mountain

Hi everyone!

It’s been about a week since we’ve been to the Walt Disney World theme parks, and much has happened in the meantime. The Main Street USA train station is undergoing some sort of rehab (below, left). I’ve not seen any information about this elsewhere as to what is going on. Brochures showing the ice castle and Splash Mountain (below, left) show what is not available to guests currently at the park.

Walt Disney World Freeze, Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Polynesian Resort Update – Photos and Video

Hi everyone!

Orlando has been in a deep freeze this week, with temperatures as low as the mid-20’s (maybe not a deep freeze, but very cold nonetheless!) Around the parks and resorts, you can see flowers, plants and trees covered up from the cold – often making it look like even more of a winter wonderland (below, left at Epcot and below, right at the Polynesian Resort).

Hi everyone!

Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee had a rousing final performance yesterday (below, left). Despite rumors to the contrary, this was the last show (though it could possibly come back for the DVD release). Louis the Alligator gets ready to play his trumpet (below, right).
