Hi everyone!
Orlando has been in a deep freeze this week, with temperatures as low as the mid-20’s (maybe not a deep freeze, but very cold nonetheless!) Around the parks and resorts, you can see flowers, plants and trees covered up from the cold – often making it look like even more of a winter wonderland (below, left at Epcot and below, right at the Polynesian Resort).
No lifeguard was in sight at the Polynesian pool (below, left) and the slide was closed, with no guests when we passed by (below, right).
A facade has gone up at the Crystal Palace (below, left) and a wall up around Cinderella Castle as moat work prepares to start (below, right).
Splash Mountain now has a big crane above it (below, left) and fencing (below, right).
It is sad to see the Liberty Belle without the Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee decor, that was a wonderful show! (below, left). Looking back at Splash Mountain (below, right).
This band has several names, but we’ll call them the Fantasyland Saxaphone Quartet here! Either way, they are very talented and we enjoyed listening to them (below left and right).
Bonus Video – Fantasyland Saxaphone Quartet, Magic Kingdom 01/06/10 – Cruella De Vil – This is a quartet of saxaphone players who play around Walt Disney World, including on Main Street and in Tomorrowland.
The Tomorrowland Terrace is now closed for rehab, and fully fenced (below left). Dream Builders signs are everywhere now! (below, right)
We hadn’t noticed the Princess and the Frog signs on the garland before at the Port Orleans French Quarter (below left and right).
At Epcot, the fountain stage is back to the way it was before the holiday addition of the D’Vine Voices Chorus (below, left). The Cantina de San Angel in Mexico is closed, and the construction work is planned to continue through fall with a September opening scheduled (below, right).
You can see the back of the Cantina de San Angel (below, left). Construction is now viable for a fast-food pizza restaurant next to Tutto Italia in the Italy Pavilion to be operated by Patina Group (below, right).
The inside of the Mexico Pavilion is really beautiful with Christmas lights and decor, it’s one place we’d missed during the holiday season (below left and right).
