By Jeff, on February 22nd, 2011 Hi everyone!
We made a stop at Disney’s Pop Century Resort yesterday to see the progress on Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, which is set to open in summer of 2012 as Disney’s newest value resort offering (below, left). Originally slated to be the Disney’s Pop Century Legendary Years, you can see that the years are still attached to the main building (below, right).

Today was another picture perfect day in central Florida so we decided to check out what was happening at The Magic Kingdom! We boarded the Walt Disney World Railroad to check out the progress on Mickey’s Toontown Fair when we noticed that Mickey and Minnie Mouse were greeting guests in Frontierland (below left) in addition to Tomorrowland (click HERE for photos & video). We stopped at the Frontierland station to get covergae of this popular twosome! (below, right).

Mickey’s Toontown Fair has closed forever to make way for the Fantasyland expansion, but we spent the last few hours on Friday enjoying this land before the walls went up around it for good. We entered Mickey’s Toontown Fair by train (below, left) and took a couple of last rides on Goofy’s Barnstormer (below, right), which will be rethemed as The Great Goofini as part of the expansion (below, right).

By Jeff, on February 11th, 2011 Hi everyone!
With today being the last day of Mickey’s Toontown Fair, I wanted to look back at the beginning of this area of the park. Mickey’s Toontown Fair originated as “Mickey’s Birthdayland“, for the 60th birthday of Mickey Mouse in 1988 (below, left). The Walt Disney World Railroad (renamed Mickey’s Birthdayland Express) had a catchy song, and a “Happy Birthday Mickey” sign on the front of the train (below, right).

We spent much of Sunday at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to see the new Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun! Parade. The entrance now has “Let the Memories Begin” banners up (below, left). We waited an hour or so for the new parade before it started (below, right).
