This week’s Limited Time Magic offering is “Celebrate Fairies Week”, with Tinker Bell greeting with more of her fairy friends in Tinker Bell’s Magical Nook than usual. This location tends to have long waits most of the time (Space Mountain had a 25 minute stand-by wait when Tinker Bell’s Magical Nook was holding steady at an hour).
We stopped by Disney’s Pop Century Resort (below, left) yesterday to take some photos and video of the progress on the upcoming Disney’s Art of Animation Resort (below, right). It’s pretty amazing to see the difference from just a couple of weeks ago! To learn more about what this new resort will feature, we have more information and concept art HERE.
We visited Epcot yesterday to participate in one of their hands-on seminars that are now held daily through the end of the Flower and Garden Festival. On the way in, we finally saw Lotso Huggin’ Bear, who was absent at the beginning of the Festival (below left and right, with the Tronorail in the background).
Today was the first day of the 2011 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival! For the first time ever, Pixar is now part of the Festival (below, left). Woody and Buzz are at the main entrance (below, right) and should be joined soon by Lotso Huggin’ Bear.
We spent the day at Epcot and the Magic Kingdom yesterday, but the highlight for me was seeing the new changes in the Haunted Mansion! New projections have replaced the audio-animatronics and older projections, but we were told this is temporary/transitional (below, left and right). So we’ll see if anything else happens, I definitely would like to see them keep the ghost that sits with you in the Doom Buggy!
I had a great Easter Sunday at Walt Disney World! Did you know that there is still an Easter pre-parade at the Magic Kingdom? The last full paradewas in 2000, but there is currently a procession that includes the Easter Bunny, as well as springtime themed characters and the Mobile Azalea Trail Maids.
I was very excited to learn about Epcot’s newest addition over the past few weeks, WDI’s Living Character InitiativeRemy from the Disney/Pixar film Ratatouille. Earlier today Denise from site partner MouseSteps took these amazing photos and videos!
Remy entertains guests four time during lunch seating and once during dinner (he gets Sundays off.. even a rat needs a day of rest). If you would like to see many more great photos, please visit HERE.
