President Obama paid a visit to the Magic Kingdom yesterday to give a short speech on tourism. Main Street U.S.A. was walled off from park guests until a little after 2pm (below, left). While some areas were not open to the public, Disney pulled a terrific backstage experience out of it’s hat! Parade floats and Main Street vehicles lined the backstage walkway from Main Street to Tomorrowland, including these fish from Spectromagic (below, right).
Jeff Lange brings the grandeur of Spectromagic, the brilliance of the Main Street Electrical Parade, and the dazzling display of the Summer Nightastic! Fireworks Show to your door with Jeff Lange’s Magic Kingdom Summertime 2010.
SpectroMagic (Final showing of the season 06/05/10)
Over a half-million lights shimmer and dance in this long-running Disney favorite! This is the final showing before Walt Disney World debuted the Main Street Electrical Parade for the summer of 2010. Mickey Mouse cuts a grand figure in a lighted magicians cape, directing the symphony of lights, color and sound that bring this brilliant parade to life. You will enjoy characters from classic movies that include “The Little Mermaid”, “Fantasia” and “Aladdin”. The finale highlights the real star of the show – the lights, which in a Disney parade first, change from white to brilliant color with the flick of a paint brush!
Summer Nightastic! Fireworks Show (Premiere 06/06/10)
This debut showing of the Summer Nightastic! Fireworks Show begins with the Fairy Godmother welcoming you, followed by a spectacular fireworks display to “Bibbiddi, Bobbidi Boo”. It isn’t long before Fauna and Merryweather fight to decide whether Cinderella Castle should be pink or blue. Soon, Captain Hook arrives and leads the pirate attempt to take over the castle, ending in an explosive battle with fireworks on the castle itself! Tinker Bell takes to the night sky and saves the castle with a wave of her magic wand.
Main Street Electrical Parade (Premiere 06/06/10)
Illuminated with over a half million twinkling lights, this most beloved of Disney’s parades is now back on Main Street at Walt Disney World for the summer of 2010! This multiple angle segment was shot premiere night from great views in Town Square and Main Street USA. Tinker Bell leads the parade in her all-new float, and this version includes the return of Pinocchio’s Pleasure Island float and the Seven Dwarfs glistening diamond mine! All your parade favorites are here including: Mickey’s Train, Alice in Wonderland, Pete’s Dragon and more! The Main Street Electrical Parade has never shone more brightly!

SpectroMagic ended it’s current run last night, we spent the last 2 evenings at the Magic Kingdom to say goodbye and to get photos and video. I was in attendance for Spectromagic’s premier showing on October 1st, 1991 during Walt Disney World’s 20th anniversary celebration. I thought it’d be fitting that we be there for the final showing before the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade. The SpectroMen signaled the start of the parade (below, left). The classic Walt Disney World logo is shown (below, right).
Fathers Day is quickly approaching and if your dad is a Disney fan (like mine is) we are now offering two special combo packs (Disneyland and Walt Disney World editions)!
My father, Walter Lange first brought me to Walt Disney World during it’s opening year of 1971 with my family and got me hooked on all things Disney. He used to record our Disney vacations on audio tape and later progressed to 8mm home movies. I guess I took to the recording of the parks by watching him and enjoying the results. Happy Fathers Day Dad and thanks for all the special vacations and everything you have done for me!
