It’s really “Not-So-Scary” as you enter the Magic Kingdom for your Halloween Party night! After donning your Party wristband, it’s time to pick up a map and treat bag. Once inside the park, you stop for your first treats in the new Market Street location behind Main Street. Next, it’s time to meet Jack and Sally at their new location in the gazebo in Liberty Square. You follow that up with Talking Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theater and Donald, Minnie and all Seven Dwarfs in Storybook Circus! Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet meet guests while donning Halloween costumes in Fantasyland.
Headless Horseman
“Beware, the Headless Horseman is here!” proclaims the announcer as the famed rider from Sleepy Hollow emerges from the darkness holding an illuminated jack-o-lantern in his gloved hand. Shot from multiple angles in Frontierland and Town Square
Zootopia Party Patrol
Nick Wilde & Judy Hopps join other members of the Zootopia Party Patrol (formerly the Creepa Crew) to entertain guests on Main Street and Town Square before Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade.
Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade
“Make sure to get lots of treats!”, Mickey proclaims as Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade kicks off. No tricks can be found here, just a lot of popular Disney characters to delight young and old alike. Winnie the Pooh, Aladdin, Jasmine, and other favorites can be found hiding behind their Halloween masks. Wendy is tied up on the pirate ship, while Peter Pan is ready to battle Captain Hook! New this year is Vanellope on the candy float. It is a delightful combination of childhood favorite characters and villainous fun. Back as always is the esteemed Grave Digger Precision Drill Team and so much more!
Celebrate The Magic Villains Segment
Added only for the Halloween season, this villains segment of the Celebrate the Magic projection show offers some of Disney’s most dastardly villains, with Chernabog heralding in the the likes of Ursula and Maleficent, the Mistress of all Evil herself. Maleficent first appears in human form before her dragon likeness conjures up flames on Cinderella Castle.
Happy HalloWishes Fireworks
Your “Ghost Host” guides you through this feast of sights and sounds, as vibrant bursts of color combine with dazzling projections to light up the night. View the 180 degree fireworks finale in all it’s splendor (recorded from multiple angles). These Party exclusive fireworks are not a trick, but a spooktacular Halloween treat!
Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular
The Sanderson Sisters return to the mortal world for one mischievous Halloween night. Includes: Dr. Facilier, Oogie Boogie, Maleficent, Lady Tremaine and other villains bringing gifts for the special Party potion! Shot from multiple camera angles.
Trick or Treating / Haunted Exit Scenes
The Monstrous Scream-A-Ween Ball is going strong in Tomorrowland, while the Haunted Mansion across the Magic Kingdom offers a more eerie presence. Pirates of the Caribbean is again a treat location this year, and the tower clock with skeleton projection makes for a spooky hidden Mickey. Take a stroll down a colorful Main Street U.S.A. with Halloween lighting effects and window displays! The scarecrows in Town Square bid you goodbye before we take one last lingering look. Carved pumpkins above the Main Street Train Station spell out “See Ya Real Soon” as your Halloween Party night concludes.
Your Very Merry Christmas Party begins as you receive your Party wristband, which allows for a whole evening of fun in the Magic Kingdom! Christmas decor, including a festive floral Mickey head shaped like an ornament, sets the mood for a perfect night. The Magic Kingdom Christmas tree is up already, which is rare so early in the season. We stop for a Party guide map before heading to Storybook Circus, where many of the most popular characters meet! Daisy Duck, Minnie Mouse, Scrooge McDuck and Donald Duck in their holiday costumes help add the “merry” to the Party. And Jack Skellington as Sandy Claws shows us around his new Storybook Circus location! Our last stop is meeting Mickey Mouse in his holiday finery, talking to us at Town Square Theater.
A Frozen Holiday Wish (Castle Lighting)
Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff add their own twist on the Cinderella Castle lighting in “A Frozen Holiday Wish”. Visiting from Arrendelle, Olaf wonders if there is anyone who can light the castle. With some nudging, Elsa uses her “fractally powers” to bring ice and snow to Cinderella Castle, which transforms into a splendorous, shimmering delight.
Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade
“Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” as you enjoy this holiday tradition from the best parade spot in the Magic Kingdom, Christmas Tree Point! Mickey proclaims “It’s my favorite time of year” as he joins Minnie atop a Christmas tree float. New this year is Vanellope driving a gingerbread car. Back again are the “Frozen” characters, Anna & Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff, along with classic characters that include the Seven Dwarfs and Pooh characters. Perennial favorites include the gingerbread men, reindeer, toy soldiers and Santa Claus himself!
Celebrate The Magic! (Holiday Finale)
The holiday segment of the new “Celebrate The Magic!” projection show features Cinderella Castle as a large gift just waiting to be unwrapped! Once the gift opens, the castle is shown in various forms – including as a gingerbread house, the Walt Disney World 25th Anniversary castle cake, and you’ll even catch a glimpse of Santa and his reindeer!
Holiday Wishes Fireworks: Celebrate the Spirit of the Season
This fireworks spectacular lights up the sky over the Magic Kingdom and Cinderella Castle. The show is a combination of six “acts”: The Spirit of the Season, The Spirit of Holiday Wonder, The Spirit of Sharing Hearth and Family, The Spirit of Holiday Childhood Fantasies, The Holiday Spirit in Each of Us, and Christmas All Around Us. Experience all of its splendor from multiple angles and fully enjoy the 180 degree fireworks finale!
Celebrate the Season Show
The Castle forecourt is never as festive as during this “joyous celebration” that features some of your favorite characters! Goofy dresses as Santa, and Minnie gets to open the present that Mickey gave her (he even dresses as a Nutcracker soldier). Sing along to jubilant Christmas carols in a segment which culminates in an explosive ending. New for 2015 are polar bears, replacing the horses that have been in the show for so long.
Very Merry Party Scenes
We stop for some complimentary holiday treats before making our way through the park to admire holiday lighting in Tomorrowland and Frontierland. One of Santa’s reindeer is meeting in Adventureland, a memorable moment in our night. We take a lingering look at Cinderella Castle in ice, which is accentuated by the lit turrets this year. Never has the castle looked more spectacular for the holidays! We walk down Main Street, taking in the holiday lights, windows and gaze upon the Christmas tree, so beautifully lit and adorned for Christmas. Our Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party night ends where it began, in front of the Main Street Train Station.

Visiting from Arrendelle, Olaf wonders if there is anyone who can light the castle. With some nudging, Elsa uses her “fractally powers” to bring ice and snow to Cinderella Castle. Very Merry Party Scenes
Space Mountain glows green and red, and snowflakes greet you at the entrance to Tomorrowland. Take a last walk down Main Street, delighting in the windows that include Mickey, Minnie and even Daisy in her Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party costume. You linger in Town Square, enjoying the view of Cinderella Castle bathed in ice through the two toy soldiers. Your Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party comes to an end with a glance at the Main Street Train Station, with small Christmas trees lit for the season.
We attended the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party for 2014, and are already looking forward to one more! There are some changes from last year, and we wanted to share some tips for enjoying the Party this year. The Party we attended had VERY light crowds, that won’t usually be the case.
Here are our tips! Many are similar to previous years, but a few have changed. You can also watch us talk about Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Mousesteps Weekly #115!
Order Tickets Early. Halloween night is already sold out, and other dates may end up the same. In addition, some dates offer advance purchase discounts.
Arrive Early. While Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party begins at 7:00 p.m., guests can enter at 4:00 p.m. and enjoy the Magic Kingdom for a few hours before the Party even starts!
Prioritize What You Want to Do. Are you interested in characters? Rides? Trick-or-Treating? 5 hours isn’t a long time when it comes to everything that is available to do, including Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade and HalloWishes. Decide what is most important. We stood in line earlier than the Party started for Jack & Sally, only using about 15 of our Party minutes in line (but nearly an hour and a half before that). The Seven Dwarfs Line can also be long during the evening, so we will visit them early next Party.
Pick Up Your Special Sorcerer’s of the Magic Kingdom Card. This souvenir card will make a nice momento from the Party, and can be picked up at the Fire Station beginning at 4:00 p.m.
See the Second Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade. The second parade is always less busy than the first. Many guests leave after HalloWishes, allowing for a much less busy parade route. Changes to the parade this year include the addition of Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope. Don’t miss the Headless Horseman!
Watch Mickey’s Boo-to-You Parade in Frontierland. While we often watch it in Town Square, I actually like to see it in Frontierland the best if just for fun, since the parade passes there first. By the time it arrives in Town Square (as seen in the videos below), another 15 minutes have passed, which also means 15 less Party minutes!
Visit Talking Mickey in His Halloween Costume. Mickey is dressed in his Halloween finest (we thought he might not be since he didn’t dress in Christmas attire last year), and he even has some Halloween jokes to share! He taught us his Zombie Goofy moves.
Adults Can Trick or Treat. Trick-or-Treating doesn’t have to be just a childhood memory. While we didn’t spend much time on the treat trails during the first Party, it is fun to collect some candy along with the kids.
Wear Your Best Costume! Up until maybe a few years ago, not that many costumes were worn at the early Parties, it was something saved more for the Halloween time-frame. That isn’t the case anymore. Adults and kids alike dress in Disney and non-Disney themes. There were a lot of Anna and Elsa outfits at the first Party, along with a myriad of other costumes.
See the Villains Mix and Mingle Live on Stage After Dark. Right now, it is light during the first show. But as September progresses, that should change. The lighting effects really make the show, and you will want to see them! There are only 3 shows each night this year, down from four last year. There is also no mixing and mingling with characters in this location, the available villains are at Club Villain (including Cruella DeVil, Lady Tremaine, Dr. Facilier and Judge Frollo).
Arrive Early for HalloWishes to Watch Celebrate the Magic. Hallowishes begins at 9:30 p.m., with Celebrate the Magic beginning at 9:15 p.m. We recommend standing back from Cinderella Castle to enjoy the perimeter fireworks, but close enough to see the castle projections – our favorite spot is in the middle of Main Street near Casey’s Corner.
Visit Club Villain. New this year at the Diamond Horseshoe, Club Villain allows guests to meet and dance with many of their favorite villains! We also enjoyed the artwork and atmosphere in the Diamond Horseshoe. Young kids may prefer the Monstrous Scream-O-Ween Ball in Tomorrowland.
Specialty Treats Are Available. If candy isn’t enough, then other treats can be found at locations around the Magic Kingdom. They are listed in the guide map! This year, Storybook Treats serves Candy Corn Ice Cream; Gaston’s Tavern sells Ghost Cupcakes; and outdoor carts sell Cotton Candy Candy Corn, among other goodies. If you want regular food, some restaurants do stay open until midnight, but not all – check the guide map for times.
Stay Late. The last hour of the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is the least busy hour, and worth staying up for. If you want to take photos like we did on Main Street, you have until around 1:00 a.m. Use the time after midnight to check out the themed pumpkins on Main Street!
Guests can also pay an extra $99 for the Villain’s Sinister Soiree: A Wicked Takeover of Cinderella Castle. That is in addition to the Party ticket, and includes viewing for Mickey’s Boo-to-You Parade and HalloWishes – along with a dessert party with villains inside Cinderella Castle. We will not be attending that this year.

Here in Orlando, it’s the time of the year to get ready for Christmas! We attended the first three Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party nights (below, left). Christmas trees are set in front of the Main Street railroad station (below, right), and Mickey’s head is in the shape of a giant ornament.
