Magic Kingdom One More Disney Day Highlights: Mickey & Minnie in PJ’s, Special Bakery Items, Main Street Vehicles, Castle Dance Party, Sunrise and More! – Photos and Video

Hi everyone!

We decided a couple of days before “One More Disney Day” at the Magic Kingdom (below, left) that we’d attend for at least a few hours in the evening. We arrived at about 8pm, figuring we’d stay until 2am or so. It turned out, we stayed all night! Friends of ours had been there since 6am, and received free commemorative Mickey Ears (limited to the first 3000 guests) and all guests received One More Disney Day buttons (below, right).

This was the official t-shirt for the evening (below, left), we both ended up purchasing one. When we arrived, the line for Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom was longer than we’ve ever seen it (below, right)! The lines at all the portals were huge as well, until the early to late morning hours. When we went in around 4am, we had a very short wait.

We really wanted to meet Mickey and Minnie in their pajamas! There was a lot of confusion about when and where they’d be greeting guests. We had just talked with two managers who said it’d be 1am inside of the Town Square Theater – but it opened up about 2 minutes after that (around 10:30pm), and we ran with friends to get in line. We were just about the last to see Mickey and Minnie before they had to “leave” for the Main Street Electrical Parade! While we were inside the Theater, we were standing in the waiting room before the one where we met Mickey and Minnie – and there was a lot of new things for us to see. One was a set of mail inboxes, including one for B. Justice (Bill), with one of his prints that was a nice tribute to the painting that was once on the wall of the Walt Disney Story (below, left). We had a lot of time to take pictures and notice things, and one of our friends said the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom logo looked a lot like the Town Square Theater logo. It isn’t exact, but we thought so too! (below, right).

We waited about 20 minutes for Mickey and Minnie, but the wait got up to nearly 2 hours at one point! We both enjoy meeting the characters in unique and new costumes (below left and right). It was well worth the wait!

We pose with Mickey and Minnie in their pajamas (below, left). Chip and Dale were also clad in night clothes (below, right). We loved the acorn buttons!

Video #1 – One More Disney Day at Magic Kingdom, Characters – Mickey and Minnie in PJ’s, Phineas & Ferb, Duffy – We took photos and video of some of the characters last night at One More Disney Day (Leap Day at the Magic Kingdom). Mickey and Minnie wore their pajamas, as did Chip and Dale. Phineas and Ferb made a special Magic Kingdom appearance, as did Duffy the Disney Bear. Narrated by Denise and Jeff.

The special cupcakes were plentiful and tasty, we tried one of each for a late night sugar kick (below, left). There were even candy apples with the “One More Disney Day” logo (below, right). The ears were made of chocolate covered marshmellows!

There were vehicles parked around Town Square, including the Goofy’s Candy Company truck that is featured in the holiday parades (below, left), and Main Street vehicles (below, right). It was fun to be able to sit in the drivers seats for photos and honk the various horns.

We had arrived to see Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (below, left) just moments after a marriage proposal. Grumpy (below, right) is true to his name as he pouts and slumps in his chair.

The evil stepsisters (below, left) arrived just after Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs had left – but just for a moment, as they were off too! Duffy the Disney Bear (below, right) salutes us in his sailor outfit.

Phineas and Ferb (below, left) took a break from their usual meet-and-greet at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to greet guests at the Magic Kingdom. A DJ (below, right) led a high energy all night dance party in front of Cinderella Castle.

We watched “The Magic, The Memories and You!” at 5:30am, when there were fewer guests in the park. It wasn’t empty, but definitely a much more manageable crowd. Fireworks shoot off at the end of the show (below, right).

After “The Magic, the Memories and You!” ended, most guests left. Tomorrowland was very slow (below, left), and we rode the People Mover twice. The work lights were on in Space Mountain as it had closed for the night for maintanence (below, right).

Walt and Mickey look on as the dawn breaks behind them (below, left). Space Mountain is seen as the sky lightens behind it (below, right). Birds started chirping in unison while we were on the People Mover, which was pretty cool.

Fog envelopes Cinderella Castle at 6:30am (below, left). The Main Street Cinema (below, right) looks beautiful with the morning sky behind it.

We took one last look at the Main Street Train Station (below, left) and then headed to the Polynesian Resort for Tonga Toast (below, right). It was a real treat after a long evening!
