Hi everyone! Yesterday we visited the Magic Kingdom to check on the progress in Fantasyland. Trees have been taken down behind the wall, and the area is being prepped for the upcoming Fantasyland Forest construction (below left and right). Hi everyone! We stopped by the Golden Oak development today, you can see the insignia on a fence (below, left) and the gatehouse (below, right). The Golden Oak is named after Walt Disney’s ranch outside of Los Angeles. Fireworks Show to your door with Jeff Lange’s Magic Kingdom Summertime 2010. SpectroMagic (Final showing of the season 06/05/10) Over a half-million lights shimmer and dance in this long-running Disney favorite! This is the final showing before Walt Disney World debuted the Main Street Electrical Parade for the summer of 2010. Mickey Mouse cuts a grand figure in a lighted magicians cape, directing the symphony of lights, color and sound that bring this brilliant parade to life. You will enjoy characters from classic movies that include “The Little Mermaid”, “Fantasia” and “Aladdin”. The finale highlights the real star of the show – the lights, which in a Disney parade first, change from white to brilliant color with the flick of a paint brush! Summer Nightastic! Fireworks Show (Premiere 06/06/10) This debut showing of the Summer Nightastic! Fireworks Show begins with the Fairy Godmother welcoming you, followed by a spectacular fireworks display to “Bibbiddi, Bobbidi Boo”. It isn’t long before Fauna and Merryweather fight to decide whether Cinderella Castle should be pink or blue. Soon, Captain Hook arrives and leads the pirate attempt to take over the castle, ending in an explosive battle with fireworks on the castle itself! Tinker Bell takes to the night sky and saves the castle with a wave of her magic wand. Main Street Electrical Parade (Premiere 06/06/10) Illuminated with over a half million twinkling lights, this most beloved of Disney’s parades is now back on Main Street at Walt Disney World for the summer of 2010! This multiple angle segment was shot premiere night from great views in Town Square and Main Street USA. Tinker Bell leads the parade in her all-new float, and this version includes the return of Pinocchio’s Pleasure Island float and the Seven Dwarfs glistening diamond mine! All your parade favorites are here including: Mickey’s Train, Alice in Wonderland, Pete’s Dragon and more! The Main Street Electrical Parade has never shone more brightly! But first, we stopped by the Universal Studios store as we went through Orlando International Airport on Friday night. The display for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was huge (below, left) and there was plenty of merchandise for those who may not be able to make it to the park right now (below, right). Hi everyone! We were invited to the Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort by friends to enjoy an evening at the Top of the World Lounge. I’d spent some time last year taking photos and video of the resort prior to opening, but had not yet been inside. In the lobby, there is an area set up for a cast member to assist guests who want to go up to the lounge and observation deck (below, right). Hi everyone! Summer Nightastic is in full swing, we already have photos and video from the Main Street Electrical Parade and the Summer Nightastic! Fireworks Show! We went to the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror on Sunday night to see what was new – and after we rode, we were told it wasn’t quite finished. It is finished now, and it includes a new drop sequence for Summer Nightastic, and you’ll see your photo just before you drop and at the end of the ride before the doors open again. There is also some old-time (40’s) music before the drop, and a star field where the 5th dimension normally is. At night, the Hollywood Tower glows green from the shafts (below left and right). Hi everyone! We had such a great time last night as the Main Street Electrical Parade returned to the Magic Kingdom! We saw this version at Disney’s California Adventure last year (see video HERE) where it was called “Disney’s Electrical Parade“, but it’s not the same as seeing it where I first did as a child in 1977. The Tinker Bell float (below, left) was new for last year, with 25,000 points of light. Mickey’s train announces the name of the parade (below, right), though it wasn’t changed for Summer Nightastic to the Main Street Electrical Parade moniker. |
