By Jeff, on June 17th, 2011 Hi everyone!
We were in Washington DC for a long weekend (through Tuesday), and jumped back into the saddle by visiting the Magic Kingdom yesterday. A lot has changed since we’ve been out of town! The Main Street Confectionery scrim has been removed, revealing a vibrant red border on a white exterior (below left and right). You will see in the video that a portion of the Confectionery that is facing the Emporium (inwards towards Main Street) is now in a pink art-deco style as well.

By Jeff, on June 6th, 2011 Hi everyone!
I spent the day with friends on Saturday, taking some time to get photos and video of changes to the Magic Kingdom since we were last there. The first stop was the Haunted Mansion (below, left), which has added directional signs showing the way to the “scenic route” and the “direct route” (below, right), depending on whether you want to see the interactive queue or not.

We were able to ride Space Mountain yesterday (below left), there is now music on 60 speakers throughout the ride – it isn’t an onboard ride track. There are also whooshing sounds that happen as you pass certain areas of the ride. We also noticed a spider web projection on the building, I have not seen this for a number of years – the last time being the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party from a couple of years back.

We’ve spent a few hours this week at the Magic Kingdom, I stopped by yesterday as well to get some photos. Cinderella Castle (below, left) looked magnificent with the clouds behind it. Casey’s Corner (below, right) is still undergoing exterior work.

Tomorrowland’s Space Mountain has finally unveiled the end of it’s post-show. It’s really not that different than previously, with monitors showing guests as they pass by. The attraction was not too busy today, with waits between 10 minutes and 30 minutes this afternoon (below, left). The queue was nearly empty on the first ride (below, right).

By admin, on November 10th, 2009 Hi everyone!
The walls came down around Space Mountain today, and it is very close to opening! You can see the front of Space Mountain and the arcade (below, left), and the bathrooms in the former Skyway building are open as well (below, right).

By admin, on October 5th, 2009 Hi everyone!
We have video that includes the new PeopleMover spiel, courtesy of Mousesteps.com. There are many differences with the new wording, including the removal of “Paging Mr. Morrow“. Also, instead of mentioning “The City of Tomorrow“, the Epcot model is referred to as Progress City (below, left). The PeopleMover does go through Space Mountain, which is now testing (below, right).
