Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival 2010: Preparations Update – Photos and Video

Hi everyone!

We stopped by Epcot yesterday and were surprised to see so many Epcot Flower and Garden Festival topiaries out! Simba (below, left) is part of a Lion King display that also includes Rafiki and Nala (below, right). There isn’t much new this year, nearly everything has just been shuffled around.

Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival 2010 Preparations Begin, Disney’s Hollywood Studios & Magic Kingdom: Latest Update

Hi everyone!

The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival is taking shape, even with all the very cold weather we’ve had recently. The area where the Nautical Flag quilt sits is showing the formation of starfish, dolphins and Mickey. Perhaps the theme will be from the upcoming DisneyNature film Oceans? (below left and right).

Walt Disney World “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day” Press Event – Day Two: Celebrate Volunteers with the Muppets, Epcot Future World Party – Photos and Video

Hi everyone!

Disney rolled out the second day of it’s “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day” media event at Epcot on February 11th. The World Showplace was the scene of a world record-breaking 115,527 can structure, and the cans were then donated to food banks. The Jammitors opened the show (below, left) and Ambassador Clay Shoemaker (below, right) welcomed everyone.

Hi everyone!

We just attended day 1 of the “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day” press event! The event was held at the newly re-branded ESPN Wide World of Sports facility. The evening kicked off with the “What’s New, What’s Next” (below, left) media presentation. Meg Crofton, President of the Walt Disney World Resort (below, right) told everyone about the upcoming “Summer Nightastic“.

Superbowl MVP Drew Brees Celebrates at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom – Photos and Video

Hi everyone!

Super Bowl XLIV MVP Drew Brees celebrated his victory at the Magic Kingdom today! His was the 42nd in a series of commercials that started in 1987 with the immortal words, “I’m going to Disney World“! Prior to his motorcade, the crowd is revved up (below, left). Not that we needed it! Guests get ready (below, right) for Drew Brees to make his way down Main Street USA.

Epcot Update: Innoventions Smarter Planet by IBM, Flower and Garden Festival Blooms, Monorail Beam Work and Characters in Epcot – Photos and Video

Hi everyone!

Flowers are starting to bloom around Epcot where Jack Frost took his toll. The purple and white flowers in front of Spaceship Earth are looking great! (below, left). There was a lot of rain today, and part of my time was spent inside creating an avatar of myself to play in the new Innoventions IBM offering called “Run Time” as part of the Smarter Planet exhibit (below, right).

Magic Kingdom Update: Space Mountain Post-Show, Now Completed – Photos and Videos

Hi everyone!

Tomorrowland’s Space Mountain has finally unveiled the end of it’s post-show. It’s really not that different than previously, with monitors showing guests as they pass by. The attraction was not too busy today, with waits between 10 minutes and 30 minutes this afternoon (below, left). The queue was nearly empty on the first ride (below, right).
