We attended the LEGOLAND Florida Grand Opening festivities, which included 2 days of events. The first day was a media day, and we arrived at LEGOLAND Florida (below, left) in the morning for the Grand Opening Celebration. LEGO mascot Buddy and his pal Max join a young girl as she drives a LEGO car in front of guests (below, right). Yesterday we put off our Magic Kingdom update to focus on the Cubot interactive test, but I’m happy to be sharing our Magic Kingdom photos and video today! Denise noticed the pumpkin wreaths at the Magic Kingdom tollbooth (below, left) as we drove to the park. The Disney and American flags were flying at half-staff in memory of Steve Jobs (below, right).

We were planning to stay home and work on our latest Fantasyland update today, but found out about an interactive test going on at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (below, left). Cubot, which looks like a set of blocks from a toy box, debuted today – but it’s heading to Hong Kong Disneyland very soon! The test is occurring today and tomorrow (October 11th and 12th, 2011).

Yesterday we enjoyed celebrating Walt Disney World’s 40th Anniversary at the Magic Kingdom! There was a “40 Magical Years” banner welcoming us as we entered through the security gates (below, right), and one hanging from Cinderella Castle – in this picture, behind the Partners statue featuring Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse (below, right).

We had a fantastic time last night at the Haunted Mansion Trick or Meet Up (also called the Trick or Treat Up) after hours at the Magic Kingdom! We met at Blizzard Beach (below, left), where we were transported by Disney Cruise Line buses to the backstage area behind Splash Mountain. It was first-class all the way! The Haunted Mansion was brilliantly lit (below, right).

We didn’t go into the Magic Kingdom yesterday, but we did take photos looking into Fantasyland from the top of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Cinderella Castle is having the Christmas castle lights added (below, left). Rock work rises from the ground in front of Beast’s Castle (below, right).
