Hi everyone! I’ve had the opportunity to celebrate Disneyland’s birthday (July 17th) in person many times in the past, including at the big media event for the 50th! But there are years that we don’t get to Disneyland in July – so we celebrate instead at the Magic Kingdom (below, right). We celebrated the 57th birthday of Disneyland on a very rainy day at the park. Our tradition is to ride opening day Disneyland attractions, but some of them are outside, so we couldn’t really be too choosy!

Last week we sent a reporter to the preview of D23 Presents: Treasures of the Disney Archives in Simi Valley, California. The exhibit is being held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library through June 2013, with over 500 artifacts – many that have never been displayed. The entrance to the exhibit shows Walt Disney and Ronald Reagan side by side (below, left), they were longtime friends. We have seen some of the memorabilia items previously, such as this Mickey Mouse animatronic (below, right) from the Mickey Mouse Revue.

I just made it to the Magic Kingdom for my first time in several weeks, and so much has happened since that time! After meeting friends at the D23 tweet up meet, I stopped by the Haunted Mansion (below left and right) to check out the new queue situation as well as the ride exit change.
Hi everyone! I had a great time last night celebrating Disneyland’s 55th Birthday. Normally I celebrate it at Disneyland, but this year we didn’t make it out there for July and spent the evening reliving Disneyland opening day attractions at the Magic Kingdom (below, left). Along the way, we took some photos of the construction projects around the Magic Kingdom. The courtyard area of Exposition Hall is now open and looks great, with new landscaping and brickwork (below, right).
Hi everyone! We were surprised to see so many changes at the Magic Kingdom yesterday after just a couple of days – and Epcot as well, with new plants and so much more going on! At the Magic Kingdom, Grad Nite preparations are in full swing (below left and right) for next weekend.
