Hi everyone! President Obama paid a visit to the Magic Kingdom yesterday to give a short speech on tourism. Main Street U.S.A. was walled off from park guests until a little after 2pm (below, left). While some areas were not open to the public, Disney pulled a terrific backstage experience out of it’s hat! Parade floats and Main Street vehicles lined the backstage walkway from Main Street to Tomorrowland, including these fish from Spectromagic (below, right).

We enjoyed not only one, nor two, but four fireworks displays in the past two days! The first was Illuminations: Reflections of Earth and the Holiday Tag after seeing the last Candlelight Processional for the season. The second was the Magic Kingdom New Years Eve fireworks on December 30th (below, left), as seen from Disney’s Polynesian Resort (below, right).

We always enjoy the holidays at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, and Christmas Eve was no exception this year! The decoratons on Pioneer Hall (below, left), were festive and the resort’s main Christmas tree was surrounded by poinsettias (below, right).

Last night we went to Disney’s Hollywood Studios (below, left) to see the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights (below, right). We first spent an hour or so walking around the Boardwalk to see holiday displays, and we’ll be sharing photos and videos of those soon!
Hi everyone! Only a few days after Halloween, Disney’s Hollywood Studios (below, left) is nearly fully decorated for Christmas! Today was a beautiful day and we decided to take a walk around the park and see what was changed or added this year. The tree in front of the park looked beautiful against a blue sky (below, right).

We had the opportunity yesterday to take photos and video as Miss America Teresa Scanlan joined Champions from the Children’s Miracle Network as Grand Marshals in the Celebrate a Dream Come True parade (below left and right). Champions are young ambassadors from around the country who represent the 17 million children who have benefitted from Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

We were planning to stay home and work on our latest Fantasyland update today, but found out about an interactive test going on at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (below, left). Cubot, which looks like a set of blocks from a toy box, debuted today – but it’s heading to Hong Kong Disneyland very soon! The test is occurring today and tomorrow (October 11th and 12th, 2011). |
