Hi everyone!
We visited a number of restaurants (both to eat and to take pictures) during our 2 night Christening cruise on the Disney Dream. On the morning we docked at Castaway Cay, we stopped in to take photos of Remy and Palo. Remy is the most upscale dining experience that the Disney Cruise Line has ever offered. When walking upstairs to the restaurant, you see Ratatouille inspired artwork (below, left). The Remy sign is (below, right).
The dining room is beautiful and intimate with seating for only 80 guests (below, left). The plate, bread plate and napkin are all Remy themed (below, right).
In the Chef’s Table area, artwork based on Remy’s kitchen is seen directly in front of you upon entrance (below, left). There is also artwork of the City of Love around the chef’s table dining room (below, right). An additional charge of $75 per person is required to dine at Remy, in addition to the cost of wine and alcoholic beverages.
Video #1 – Remy French Restaurant, Disney Dream Christening Cruise – Disney Cruise Line 1/20/11 – Remy is a restaurant on the new Disney Dream, in an intimate setting featuring French-inspired cuisine. This restaurant, along with Palo, does cost extra and requires reservations. There is also a dress code. Check with the Disney Cruise Line for requirements if you are sailing!
We then stopped in at Palo (below, left), with a glorious view of the dining room when we entered (below, right). Named after the colorful poles that line the canals of Venice, Palo offers a superlative dining experience in a sophisticated atmosphere reserved exclusively for adults.
There is an ornate glass chandelier (below, left). The views are spectacular, we were at Castaway Cay that day and the water was very blue (below, right).
Italian artwork sits above some of the tables at Palo (below left and right). There is an additional $20 charge for dinner and brunch; High Tea is $10.
Video #2 – Palo Restaurant Tour, Disney Dream Christening Cruise – Disney Cruise Line 1/20/11 – Palo on the Disney Dream offers Northern Italian fare in an intimate setting for adults (this restaurant is also on the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder). There is an upcharge, and a dress code does apply. Check with the Disney Cruise Line for the latest information and to make reservations (early if you can).
We dined at Animator’s Palate the first night (below, left). Animator’s Palate is very different on the Disney Dream than it is on the other ships. Instead of a black and white that changes to color theme, it is Turtle Talk with Crush within a restaurant. The restaurant is mostly Pixar decorated, but Pixar characters meet traditional Disney characters in the foyer (below, right).
Our assistant server Jose was phenomenal and had great wine recommendations as Disney had includes a wine package to go along with our dinner (below, left). Our bread plate knife was themed to look like a paintbrush (below, right).
The chairs were designed in a Mickey theme (below, left). Crush converses with diners, teaching guests to talk like him (below, right).
Crush spent quite a bit of time on the screen (below, left) and then went through the EAC (below, right).
Near the end of our meal, the characters from Finding Nemo changes back into standard artwork (below, left). There is artwork all over, mostly Pixar (below, right).
Video #3 – Animator’s Palate Restaurant (with Crush) Disney Dream Christening Cruise 1/20/11 – This is our video of Animator’s Palate on the Disney Dream, which looks like “Turtle Talk with Crush” at dinner. Do not expect this on the other Disney ships, Animator’s Palate is a restaurant that turns from black and white to color there. But not on the Disney Dream!
