I had the opportunity to be part of a Media Boo Camp at Universal Studios Orlando’s “Halloween Horror Nights“, along with Denise from Mousesteps (thanks to long time friend Jim Hill, who also has an article about the experience HERE!) Creative Director of Halloween Horror Nights, Michael Roddy opened the event with some words about what we’d be doing – at least, what Denise would be doing (below, left). I was photographing and videotaping, she was to be made up as a Scare-Actor (in the makeup seat, below right).
Denise was one of 12 or so others who were getting made up for the Media Boo Camp, and she was a good sport to have boils put on her face (below, left). 4 or 5 people could be made up at once under the tent (below, right).
There was a limited amount of items for the wardrobe (below, left), Denise chose a black blouse with skirt (below, right).
Denise walks with Ricky and Matt from Orlando Attractions Magazine (below, left) and gets nervous before finally getting out to her first half hour of scaring (below, right).
She did get into character (below, left), and even had some real scares (below, right).
The group got together to help film a promo for a Spanish television station (below, left) and Denise removes her makeup (below, right). The boils were easy to get off, the spray-on paint took a little longer. Halloween Horror Nights: Ripped From the Silver Screen continues at the Universal Orlando Resort. On select nights now through October 31st , Universal Studios Florida becomes home to 8 haunted houses, 6 scare zones and 2 stage shows.
