I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and are recovering nicely. Today I present some “after-Christmas” gingerbread from around the Walt Disney World resort! Donald and Daisy Duck are residing at the Boardwalk Resort. The carousel below is from the Beach Club, Tinkerbell sits atop of it! You will find her below.
On the lower right, one of the employee-led gingerbread houses inside the Polynesian Resort. Instead of just one gingerbread display, they have many. Some are done by chefs, but others are a team effort from a variety of areas at the resort.
Below on the left is the main gingerbread display in the lobby. All others are on the 2nd floor, including the Tiki bar which is one of two that are at the sushi bar. The Polynesian has some wonderful displays, including one of an air hangar with moving propellers!

On December 13th, Disney’s Polynesian Resort held it’s last Torch Lighting Ceremony at the main entrance to the Great Ceremonial House.
Polynesian Resort fans may recognize the master of ceremonies at the torch lighting as Kaleo, the guitar player from the Tambu Lounge.
Kaleo is leaving the Polynesian after over eighteen years of entertaining many guests, myself included! We wish him the best in whatever he does next and fans can keep up to date at his website bighawaiianguy.com.
This is video of the final Polynesian Resort Torch Lighting Ceremony recorded 12/13/08!
Thank you Kaleo and Mahalo!

I am continuing with my coverage of Christmas at Walt Disney World with some photos from the now-decorated Disney’s Wilderness Lodge at Walt Disney World!
It is one of the more popular resorts for Christmas decor, with a beautiful tree in the middle of the lobby as well as lit reindeer on a ledge over the doors. Below you can also see one of the smaller Christmas trees, looking out on the courtyard, with a reflection in the window (below right).
The Wilderness Lodge once boasted a wonderful gingerbread train display, but it’s been years since that display has been set up.
