Hi everyone! We had a week away to spend time with family and friends, it was a nice break but now it’s time to get back to Disney! But first, we stopped by the Universal Studios store as we went through Orlando International Airport on Friday night. The display for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was huge (below, left) and there was plenty of merchandise for those who may not be able to make it to the park right now (below, right).
Hi everyone! Summer Nightastic is in full swing, we already have photos and video from the Main Street Electrical Parade and the Summer Nightastic! Fireworks Show! We went to the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror on Sunday night to see what was new – and after we rode, we were told it wasn’t quite finished. It is finished now, and it includes a new drop sequence for Summer Nightastic, and you’ll see your photo just before you drop and at the end of the ride before the doors open again. There is also some old-time (40’s) music before the drop, and a star field where the 5th dimension normally is. At night, the Hollywood Tower glows green from the shafts (below left and right).
Hi everyone! We had such a great time last night as the Main Street Electrical Parade returned to the Magic Kingdom! We saw this version at Disney’s California Adventure last year (see video HERE) where it was called “Disney’s Electrical Parade“, but it’s not the same as seeing it where I first did as a child in 1977. The Tinker Bell float (below, left) was new for last year, with 25,000 points of light. Mickey’s train announces the name of the parade (below, right), though it wasn’t changed for Summer Nightastic to the Main Street Electrical Parade moniker.
Hi everyone! SpectroMagic ended it’s current run last night, we spent the last 2 evenings at the Magic Kingdom to say goodbye and to get photos and video. I was in attendance for Spectromagic’s premier showing on October 1st, 1991 during Walt Disney World’s 20th anniversary celebration. I thought it’d be fitting that we be there for the final showing before the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade. The SpectroMen signaled the start of the parade (below, left). The classic Walt Disney World logo is shown (below, right).
Hi everyone! We just attended day 1 of the “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day” press event! The event was held at the newly re-branded ESPN Wide World of Sports facility. The evening kicked off with the “What’s New, What’s Next” (below, left) media presentation. Meg Crofton, President of the Walt Disney World Resort (below, right) told everyone about the upcoming “Summer Nightastic“.
