Welcome back everyone. I have so much to report from this past week inFlorida that I will break it into 2 parts. Please check back later this
 week for part two.

The trip started out with the NFFC FloridaConvention. It was another great event and I had a wonderful time
attending the seminars and meeting many of you! The first day of the
 convention was held at
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. This was a big step for the NFFC
as it was the first time it was actually being on Disney property! The
day featured many interesting speakers including Virginia Davis
of Disney’s early Alice Comedies fame, The traditional NFFC lunch
with a Legend Honoring Bob Matheison and Bill Sullivan,
Florida favorites Terri Hardin (below) and Jim Korkis.

Day two was amazing as the seminars were held at Epcot Center in the former United Technologies lounge inside the Living
Seas Pavilion! I applaud the NFFC for this move and hope to
see them utilizing these type of venues for future conventions!

The seminars themselves were very interesting and mostly geared toward Epcot’s 25th Anniversary being celebrated Oct 1st. Speakers included
Charlie Ridgway, Dave Smith (below left), Howard Kalov
, Dara Trujillo and the always fascinating Marty Sklar
 (below right)!

Saturday featured the NFFC Disneyana Show and Sale. This was ahuge event featuring many vintage props and ride vehicles on display
from the event sponsor Surplus Kingdom. I will be featuring these
vintage items in a upcoming edition of my Photo Memories series.

The next big event was the NFFC World Chapter meeting held Sunday night on the eve of
Epcot’s 25th Anniversary. It was one of the best chapter meetings I have
attended and really got you in the mood to celebrate Epcot’s Anniversary
the next day!. The featured speakers were none other than the original
strolling Dreamfinder (and friend of this site)
Ron Schneider and the final Dreamfinder Steve Taylor. The highlight
of the night came when Steve was giving his part of their talk and Ron
approached the stage with an actual Figment! This was a surprise to
everyone and put a magical tough on a great evening!

Please check back soon for part two featuring coverage of Epcot’s big25th Anniversary Celebration and the changes to this years
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.

Production Update: I am currently in production on my 2007 Edition of the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party DVD (Trick or
Treat 4) for a release later this week then I will start work on my
Epcot’s 25th Anniversary Celebration DVD featuring the re dedication shot
from the front row, a great multi camera recording of Illuminations:
Reflections of Earth, the incredible Epcot’s 25th Anniversary
fireworks finale plus the Epcot Center historic display and much
more! Please check back soon for release information and more details.

Hello everyone and welcome back for another Photo Memoriesupdate. As we are about a month away from
Epcot’s 25th Anniversary, I have decided to feature some vintage
 pre-opening photos. On October 1, 1979
Epcot Center had it’s official groundbreaking and begun construction. As
the official Oct 1st 1982 Grand Opening approached, a free Epcot Center
Monorail Preview was offered to Florida residents and
 Walt Disney World resort guests.

My family was staying at the Polynesian Village Resort and were notified upon check-in about this
complimentary preview. We acquired our tickets at the Magic Kingdom (in
the Epcot Center Preview Center located where the Walt Disney Story was
usually shown). I remember boarding a monorail at the Ticket and
 Transportation Center and circling
World Showcase for the first time. I was amazed by what I saw next!

It was truly awesome to see the huge Epcot Center layout and the massive construction going on as we slowly
glided to our destination, the Epcot Monorail Station. We were then able
to disembark the train and view displays and concept art of this
exciting and inspiring new type of theme park! Disney cast members where
stationed on the platform answering questions and explaining what the
park would be like when it opened! We were also allowed to take photos
from the platform of the finishing touches being made to
 Future World.

The shot above shows Spaceship Earth before the installation of the mirrors on the base. Also
note in the foreground the entrance fountain can be seen without the
 Epcot logo acrylic centerpiece.

My entire family was very excited by this sneak peek and we would returnlater that year soon after
Epcot Center opened on October 1st, 1982! The Opening Day Dedication was
 as follows:

"To all who come to this place of joy, hope and friendship, welcome."
"Epcot Center is inspired by Walt Disney’s creative genius. Here, humanachievements are celebrated through imagination, the wonders of
enterprise, and concepts of a future that promises new and exciting
 benefits for all."

"May Epcot Center entertain, inform and inspire. And, above all, may itinstill a new sense of belief and pride in man’s ability to shape a
world that offers hope to people everywhere."’

      E. Cardon Walker

      Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

      Walt Disney Productions

      Oct. 24, 1982

I look forward to being there again twenty five years later as part of ‘The Epcot Thing‘ 25th Anniversary fan event! I will have much more
information on this great event plus announce some special guests in the
 coming weeks!

JeffLangeDVD Travel Update: I am once again traveling to Walt Disney World this week to record video footage for future projects
and assist in the final planning of the ‘
Epcot Thing‘ event. As always, while I am traveling you will still receive
