Walt Disney World Christmas Photo Memories Vol 2 Plus Holiday Shopping Update & Special Shipping Options.

Welcome back for more great photos from the holidays at
Walt Disney World
plus a recap of this seasons holiday titles and shipping
options for Christmas shopping.

Photo Memories:

The photos below are from the 1993 Mickey’s Christmas Cavalcade
at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Take note of the knights on
horseback. They appear similar to the lead off from Disney’s
Enchanted Adventures Parade
at the
Pirate & Princess Party
.

I always find it interesting to watch the evolution of these parades. I
have seen quite a few floats come and go over the years (but most are
recycled). Below is the Winnie the Pooh tree that is featured in
many of the special event parades (from left), Mickey’s Christmas
Cavalcade 1993
, Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade
and this years Boo-To-You Halloween Parade.

Somewhere along the way Owl (below left) has flown the coop and
became replaced with Rabbit. Currently the tree’s leaves stay in
a permanent state of orange for use in the various parades.

Please check back soon for more holiday photos in my next Photo Memories
feature.

Walt Disney World Recap #2, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 1993 Photo Memories Vol 1 & Production Update.

Hi everyone and welcome back for another update as promised. I hope you
are all having a wonderful holiday season so far!

Walt Disney World Recap #2:

Below are a few more photos from the all new Mickey’s Once Upon a
Christmastime Parade
. Below are some of the brand new floats for
this year’s edition, The opening title and gift box
floats. The new parade music really does grow on you and I would like to
see it released at some point like the brand new Magic Kingdom Event
Party Music
CD.

When I was at the Magic
Kingdom
recording the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
of the season I had the pleasure to meet Samanth Brown from the
Travel Channel
. She was doing filming for an all new Travel Chanel special
titled
Disney Holiday Magic with Samantha Brown
. The show is scheduled to air Dec
11th at 8:00. Also below is one of my favorite holiday window
decorations at the Disney-MGM Studios.

Photo Memories:

This latest photo memory subject comes from my research while working on
my upcoming Holiday Classics
DVD. I was going thru video footage and scanning photos when I came across
some great shots and print materials from Mickey’s Very Merry
Christmas Party 1993
.

Below is a brochure for the 93 party. It’s really not fair to compare
what they did then to now as the event itself has gotten huge in recent
years. Note the number of nights it ran back then, only four.

Production Update:

I am deep in production on my next release
Jeff Lange Remembers Holiday Classics
featuring Mickey’s Christmas
Cavalcade
from 1993, The Country Bear Christmas Special
(multi angle 2003-2005), Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parade
from 2003 and the Original Osbourne Lights on Residential
Street
(1996). I hope to release this very soon. Below is a sneak
preview of this all new DVD cover.

November Walt Disney World Recap, Castle Dream Lights, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party & Production Update.

Hi everyone. Today is a very quick update as I have just returned from
my latest trip to
Walt Disney World
. I attended and recorded the first two Mickey’s Very
Merry Christmas Parties
and the all new Castle Dream Lights!
I will have a full update later this week but photographs do not do it
justice. I also have full coverage of the Osborne Family Spectacle of
Dancing Lights
, Mickey’s Jingle Jungle Parade from Animal
Kingdom as well as the Hollywood Holly-Day Parade from Disney’s
MGM Studios. I also recorded most of the talk shows from Super Soap
Weekend
for the ABC Soap fans and the holiday decorations from
around the parks and resorts.

The new Castle Dream Lights are beautiful and really add to the
festive holiday atmosphere at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!

Toy Soldiers marching down Main Street USA with snow
falling is an awesome sight made even better with the Castle Ice!
(Thanks to Robert Bish for the great photos above).

Production Update: I am almost finished with my revised holiday
titles. I am updating the retired Holiday Treat series with new footage
and a new name. The first updated release will be ‘
Holiday Treat 06
‘ featuring Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
from last year now including footage from MGM Studios Hollywood
Holly-Day Parade
. The next release will be the all new ‘Holiday
Treat 07
‘ featuring this years party with the brand new Mickey’s
Once Upon a Christmastime Parade
, Cinderella’s Holiday Wish
(Castle Dream Lights)
, Holiday Wishes and more! Finally I
will release ‘ Walt Disney World Holiday Classics‘ featuring the
Country Bears Christmas Show
, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parade
from 2003, Holiday Wishes and The Osbourne Lights from
1996 on Residential Street at Disney-MGM Studios.

Please check back later this week for a full detailed update and have a
Happy Thanksgiving
from the JeffLangeDVD family!

Bruce Gordon (1951-2007), Epcot's 25th Anniversary Gallery Photo Memories Pt 2, Holidays at Walt Disney World Preview, Production & Travel Update.

Hello everyone and welcome back for a big update this week.

Bruce Gordon (1951-2007):

Unfortunately we begin on a very sad note with the passing of much beloved author & Imagineer Bruce Gordon. I really enjoyed Bruce’s presentations at the NFFC Disneyana conventions and remember the huge smile he always had when he and fellow author/Imagineer David Mumford would throw Disney surprises to the audience. You could just tell how passionate he was about Disney and his work. My friend Jim Hill wrote a very nice tribute that I recommend everyone read HERE.

Flo and I offer our heartfelt condolences to the friends & family of Bruce Gordon.

Epcot 25th Anniversary gallery ‘Photo Memories’ part two:

As promised we continue this look at the special 25th Anniversary gallery paying tribute to Epcot’s history. This edition features some incredible images of Spaceship Earth construction on display in the gallery. We start with the
model and move to a great photo showing the construction of the massive supports.

Below left is one of my favorite shots showing some of the 954 triangular shaped silver panels sitting in the Epcot parking lot. I also love the image on the right with the construction workers looking like window washers.

There are hundreds more great images like these on display in the gallery and I encourage everyone to spend some time there on your next visit to Epcot. I have not heard anything official but it seems like the gallery will be open through 2008.

Holidays at Walt Disney World Preview:

Believe it or not it’s that time again as the Holidays come to Walt Disney World. This year there are some new offerings and changes.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — For a quarter century, Walt Disney World guests have been entertained and mesmerized by Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, a special after-hours event in Magic
Kingdom that has added an extra night this season — meaning there will be 19 evenings of holiday fun: Nov. 12, 15, 16, 25, 27, 29, 30 and Dec. 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21. The fun begins at 7 p.m., after regular park hours.

Guests can enjoy festive surprises including an all-new Castle Light Show. Cinderella Castle is adorned with thousands of shimmering white lights, covering the turrets and towers like a glistening blanket of ice. The twinkling lights create an elegant wintry effect perfect for the seasonal celebration.

Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade” celebrates the many festive moods of the holiday season, showcasing a series of holiday themes including a Friends and Family Christmastime Party, a sleigh ride through a Winter Wonderland, a romantic Fairy Tale Christmastime, a scrumptious display of Christmastime sweets, and of course Santa and Mrs. Claus in a grand finale. And for longtime Disney Christmas parade fans: soldiers, snowflakes and dancing deer are all still in the parade. The parade features original music as well as both classic and current holiday tunes.

Admission to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party requires a separate ticket. Tickets are $47.95 plus tax for ages 10/up and $40.95 plus tax for ages 3-9 (but with advance purchase, guests can save $7 per ticket for select dates). Note: Many party nights are sold out in advance. To purchase tickets, guests can call 407/W-DISNEY or visit disneyworld.com/holidays.

Returning again this year is the ‘Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights‘ on The Streets of America backlot at Disney-MGM Studios. Also returning is Animal Kingdom
decked out for the Holidays featuring ‘Mickey’s Jingle Jungle Parade‘ and Holidays Around the World at Epcot! Below is a preview of some of the merchandise that will be available only at ‘Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party‘ nights.

Production Update:

I am in the process of working on some great Holiday titles. The first release will be ‘Walt Disney World Holiday Classics‘ featuring the ‘Country Bears Christmas Show‘ (below) shot from multiple angles, ‘Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parade‘ from 2003, ‘Holiday Wishes‘ fireworks and ‘The Osbourne Lights‘ from 1996 when it was still presented on Residential Street at Disney-MGM Studios.

I also will be doing a ‘Disneyland Holiday Classics 2‘ disc featuring some great footage from Disneyland including the Christmas Parade from 1985, Small World Holiday, The 50th Anniversary
Remember… Dreams Come True
holiday fireworks including the ‘White Christmas finale complete with a magical snowfall and more.

Finally, I hope to offer the current Holiday offerings from Walt Disney World including the all new ‘Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade ‘, ‘Castle Light Show‘ and ‘Osbourne Spectacle of Dancing Lights

Travel Update:

I will be traveling to Florida next week to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and record all the new Holiday changes. I will also be covering Super Soap Weekend and recording footage all around Walt Disney World for future releases. While I am traveling you will still receive the same level of quality service and guaranteed 24 hr shipping you have come to expect from JeffLangeDVD.

All New Epcot's 25th Anniversary DVD Production Update & Preview Plus Epcot's 25th Anniversary Gallery Photo Memories Feature.

Hello everyone and welcome back for the Epcot 25th Anniversary themed photo memories feature as promised a few
weeks ago. This edition features part one of a series on Epcot’s 25th Anniversary Gallery. This is a temporary display showcasing concept art, models and historical memorabilia. Please note that these are only highlights as I ended up photographing all 720 plus images in the gallery over many hours.

One of the slightly hidden gems of the exhibit is the ‘Dream Catching Machine‘ from the classic version of ‘Journey Into Imagination‘ hanging overhead. It is very detailed and reminds me of a similar model that was displayed for years in  Disneyland’s pet care center. If anyone knows the story behind these models please email me. I am very curious as to the history and origin of these great miniature props.

The next display features vintage cast member costumes. The plaque reads: “The costumes the Epcot cast members wear help them establish the character of the role they are playing in the show and help guests to understand a part of the story being told. This can be a polyester jumpsuit for a guide on a flight into the future or a recreation of a traditional outfit worn for centuries in a far off land”.

The robot below is from the Horizons – Lifestyles in the 21st Century display. The photo on the left is from the ‘
Horizons
‘ vintage Epcot Center attraction. The next two shots are from the exhibit. It is great to see him again and in such excellent condition. I can only hope his friends share his good fortune. I will be featuring much more from this great exhibit in upcoming Photo Memory editions. Please check back again soon!

Production Update: I am deep in production on my next release Epcot’s 25th Anniversary October 1st, 2007 featuring the Entrance and Rope Drop, Silver Anniversary Celebration, Full coverage of the 25th Anniversary Gallery, Illuminations: Reflections of Earth 10-01-07, Epcot’s 25th Anniversary Fireworks Finale plus bonus footage of the Fire Barge Burn Off and much more! The tentative release date is November 1st. Below is a sneak preview of this all new DVD cover.

Florida Recap Part 2, Epcot's 25th Anniversary, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

Hello everyone and welcome back to part 2 of my Florida recap. After
wrapping up all the festivities from the
NFFC
convention and World Chapter meeting it was time to start the
second phase of the trip.

Epcot’s 25th Anniversary – 10/1/07 : This was a day that I could
not wait for. I have always been a big Epcot Center fan and
really was looking forward to the 25th Anniversary. As I entered the
park I noticed the 25th Anniversary logo’s and the classic symbol
of Epcot Center in the flower bed behind
Spaceship Earth
.

The first big event of the day was the Re Dedication of Epcot at
10:01 am. I made my way to the rope and moved quickly to be in the front
row for the presentation. The ceremony was very reminiscent of opening
day but on a much smaller scale. Throughout the day I was able to see
Marty Sklar
give his wonderful Epcot presentation and explore the new
historical exhibit ‘Epcot Creating the New World of Tomorrow‘. I
will be featuring images from this great nostalgic collection in an
upcoming photo memories article. I also contributed to Magical
Mountain’s

The Epcot Thing
‘. The event surpassed all of our expectations with
attendance and enjoyment! My biggest contribution was hosting an
Epcot History Tour
featuring Ron Schneider and Jim Hill
. I enjoyed meeting so many great people that day and I like to think I
made some new lasting friendships!

In the early evening the rains came and poured on the park. What would
an anniversary be without a little Walt’s Weather? Everything cleared
out for the finale and the crowd was really getting excited for the
special anniversary fireworks. One last flash rainstorm delayed the show
but then Illuminations: Reflections of Earth began… The crowd
was ready and after the normal show ended an announcement was made for
the special Epcot 25th Anniversary finale! Disney did not
disappoint as the fireworks tag was spectacular. The combination of
classic Epcot Center
music and the overwhelming volume of explosions was breathtaking!

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party – 2007 : For the fifth year
in a row I have attended the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween
Parties. This hard ticket event is my favorite of these after hours
parties. I love the
Halloween
theme and there is always something fun to do or see. Disney has
really gone all out this year with new Halloween decoration all over
Main Street USA.

This years ‘Boo To You‘ parade may just be the best ever! It has
two all new floats from the Pirate & Princess party’s ‘Enchanted
Adventurers
‘ parade. The Pirate ship float features Mr. Smee
as the lookout, Captain Hook behind the wheel and a crew of
pirates!

Closely following Captain Hook’s Pirate Ship is Tick Tock. He is
very impressive swaying down the parade route and appears very similar
to the Tick Tock float from
Disneyland’s Fantasmic
. Another new character for this years parade is
Captain Barbossa
from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
Barbossa
strolls the parade route with bitten apple in hand menacing
the kids. Unchanged are the usual great party highlights, Happy
Hallowishes
, Trick-or-Treating, the Villains Mix & Mingle
and the kids Halloween themed dance parties.

Production Update: I am deep in production on Trick or Treat 4
(Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2007 Edition) for a release later this
week. Upon completion of the
Halloween
DVD I will start work on my
Epcot’s 25th Anniversary
Celebration DVD featuring the re dedication,
Illuminations: Reflections of Earth, Epcot’s 25th Anniversary fireworks
finale plus the Epcot Center historic display and much more! Please
check back soon for release information and more details.
