Hi everyone! Happy Independence Day one day early! We are looking forward to enjoying part of our 4th of July holiday at Walt Disney World again, including with Ben Franklin at Epcot. This has been a Independence day tradition for us for the last 3 years and he never disappoints (below, left). He removed his hat while we recorded a fun greeting (below, right). We especially love this mention of the “Captain of the Americas”!
 Whats Happening  4th of July at Walt Disney World, American Adventure, Ben Franklin, Disney's Celebrate America! - A Fourth of July concert in the Sky, Electrical Water Pageant, IllumiNations - The Heartbeat of Freedom July 4 edition fireworks, Independence Day Greeting from Ben Franklin, merican history and heritage experience, Polynesian Resort, Voices of Liberty, Voices of Liberty Fourth of July Concert, Walt Disney World, Walt Disney World Independence Day Preview Hi everyone! The Main Street Fire Station shop, also know as Engine Co.71 (below, left) was scheduled to close to the public this week. We paid a visit last weekend to get some photos around the store. One of the more popular features for guest viewing has been the various fire station patches from around the country (below, right). We were told that they were to be temporarily displayed inside City Hall now, but nothing seems known about the plans for the Fire Station itself.
Hi everyone! Walt Disney World pulled out all the stops for a fantastic July 4th weekend! I even was able to meet Ben Franklin at the American Adventure (below, left) and listen as Betsy Ross told us the origins of the American flag (below, right).
Here’s what’s in store on July 4 (entertainment and park hours are subject to change without notice):
Magic Kingdom – “Celebrate America Fireworks” will fill the sky at 9 p.m. After the fireworks, guests can enjoy Disney’s “Main Street Electrical Parade” of lights, music and magic at 10 p.m. and midnight. Park hours are 8 a.m.-1 a.m. Disney’s Hollywood Studios – Special fireworks set to a rock ‘n’ roll soundtrack will be presented at 9:50 p.m., providing guests with a bonus nighttime entertainment extravaganza to complement “Fantasmic!” (which will be at 9 and 10:30 p.m.). Park hours are 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Epcot – “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth,” which features dazzling special effects, colorful lasers, brilliant fireworks and fiery torches all choreographed to a musical score, becomes even more dynamic on July 4 as the normal show is supplemented with a patriotic finale. The performance begins at 10 p.m. Earlier in the day, guests will be treated to the Voices of Liberty 4th of July Concert – featuring an expanded cast of singers plus the Spirit of America Fife and Drum Corps and Disney characters – at 12:30, 1:45 and 3 p.m. on the America Gardens Theatre stage. In addition, Betsy Ross will be engaging guests inside The American Adventure with storytelling, while Ben Franklin will be making appearances on the promenade near the attraction. Park hours are 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Disney’s Animal Kingdom – Guests can enjoy all the regular attractions and shows from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Hi everyone! Denise Preskitt from partner site Mousesteps.com visited Epcot for July 4th and has photos and video to share! Remember, I have recently re-released my previously retired DVD Epcot’s Star Spangled Holiday Spectacular. Now you can see what Independence day was like at Epcot Center in the early 90’s (for more information or to order, please click HERE). The Spirit of America Fife and Drum Corps made numerous appearances throughout the day (below, left). Goofy salutes the onlookers in his revolutionary outfit, flanked by Donald and Mickey (below, right).
