MouseSteps Weekly Show #25, Be Our Guest Restaurant, Gaston’s Tavern Update, Pirates of the Caribbean Mermaids, Country Bears Cuts, Earl of Sandwich Holiday Menu & More

Hi Everyone!

Our Mousesteps Weekly show #25 this week has the most topics we’ve ever cover!

Mousesteps Weekly show #25 – Another look inside Be Our Guest Restaurant, Bon Jour Village Gifts, Gaston’s Tavern’s pork shank update, Pirates of the Caribbean Mermaids, Country Bear Jamboree cuts, Wreck-It Ralph meet-up, new merchandise and Earl of Sandwich holiday menu!

Included in this episode:

* Another look inside Be Our Guest Restaurant. We have been able to view the main ballroom, the hallway with suits of armor, and the counter service ordering location!

* We visit Bon Jour Village Gifts, which has offered a variety of Be Our Guest Restaurant items. The plates sell out so quickly!

* Gaston’s Tavern’s pork shanks and cinnamon rolls keep growing in size! It’s always nice to see guests get more for their money. On the flip side, we talk about the LeFou’s Brew plastic cup, which isn’t really exclusive at all. The same cup can now be found in Pinocchio’s Village Haus and at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments, but with different stickers.

* Mermaids are now in Pirates of the Caribbean, but we’ve had the hardest time finding them! We do have a view of the mermaid skeleton on the beach. Hopefully by next week, the effect will be fully working for us to share.

* The Country Bear Jamboree has been cut back significantly. We talk a little about the new show.

* We attended the Disney Parks Blog Wreck-It Ralph meet-up, which was a lot of fun. We were able to see the film, and enjoyed a couple of hours inside DisneyQuest.

* There is a ton of new merchandise being added to the parks! We talk about a handful of those items, including shirts and men’s briefs.

* And last but not least, The Earl of Sandwich now has it’s holiday sandwich out – but also an extended holiday menu that includes turkey chili and peppermint brownie. It’s all excellent!

Recorded  10/23/12 Featuring Commentary from Denise Preskitt and Jeff Lange.

New Fantasyland Opens for Dress Rehersal, Little Mermaid Queue and Ride, Gaston’s Tavern, Be Our Guest Restaurant Plus Country Bear Jamboree Re-Opens – Photos and Video

Hi everyone!

New Fantasyland opened for previews last Friday! We had known about the upcoming preview for days, but we were in Pittsburgh until Saturday – we are very happy that our friends Daniel and Corinne Andersson shot footage for us!  You can see the video below the photos, they were the very first guests in line, and the very first guests to enter New Fantasyland. We did make it into this area after the Swan & Dolphin Food & Wine Classic on Saturday – tired from our flight, but excited to see the expansion for ourselves. I think we’ve been there 4 times now! We never waited long for Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid (below, left). The longest wait was 20 minutes, but it was more often than not that we walked right on. The Mermaid queue is detailed and exquisite, and there is no way to take a bad photo here (below, right).

Hi everyone!

Yesterday we were finally back in the Storybook Circus part of new Fantasyland (below, left) to check out the new Pete’s Silly Sideshow tent (below, right). With all the activities at Epcot over the past couple of weeks, it’s left us little time for the Magic Kingdom. Pete’s Silly Sideshow is the final attraction at open in Storybook Circus and we were told that the area in now considered complete (with the exception of a few finishing tweaks)

Trick-or-Treat Trails

We’ll stop briefly to visit Phineas and Ferb next to City Hall, as well as Mickey and Minnie dressed in their Halloween finest.

Headless Horseman

Hooves slap against the pavement as you await the arrival of the Horseman from Sleepy Hollow. Sparks shoot from the ground as the horse gallops by, with it’s famed rider holding an illuminated Jack-O-Lantern in his gloved hand. This video footage is taken from four different angles!

The crowd-favorite grave diggers are back, dragging their shovels along the pavement as sparks fly! There is a new element for 2012 to the Pirates segment, and a costume change from previous years for the lead float performers. You’ll enjoy this unique parade for years to come!

This “ghostly retreat” never feels quite as spooky as it does during the midnight hour. Mist envelopes you as you walk alone, past the gravestones that are bathed in fog. All 999 Happy Haunts are awaiting your presence – there’s no turning back now…

Haunted Exit Scenes

Your Not-So-Scary night closes with a look at projections and lights around the Magic Kingdom, including a skull and crossbones on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Cobwebs and spiders seem to have taken over Tomorrowland, so watch your step! Stroll down a nearly-empty Main Street, stopping to admire the themed scarecrows in Town Square and the spooky window displays decorated for Halloween. Take one last look back at the fog-enveloped train station before exiting for the evening.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, 2012 Edition Opening Night: Characters, Mickey’s Boo-To-You Parade Changes, HalloWishes and Much More – Photos and Video

Hi everyone!

We had a great time attending the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party of the season!  We had been in California for 11 nights, and missed seeing the Halloween decorations as they were put up. The pumpkins are back in front of the park (below, left), and new decorative lit inflatable balls have been added (below, right). These are in place of the white ones from previous years.

Enchanted Tales with Belle Preview w/ Maurice’s Cottage, Magic Mirror, Madame Wardrobe, Lumiere and Belle! – Photos and Full Video

Hi everyone!

We have been very fortunate to have the opportunity to bring you “first looks” at different areas of Fantasyland. From Gaston in front of Gaston’s Tavern, to the sign in front of Be Our Guest Restaurant, we’ve found new details that we’ve enjoyed sharing with you.  Today we’ll be taking a look at Maurice’s Cottage behind the walls of the new Fantasyland! A friend of ours was invited by a Cast Member to preview this location yesterday, including “Enchanted Tales with Belle“.  He could either photograph or videotape at any given time, so we have photos of the outside and inside of Maurice’s Cottage, but only video of the experience within.  In the future, we’ll have both covered fully! Cast members in their new costumes lined the walkways to Maurice’s Cottage (below, left). The cottage itself has been seen quite a bit online, and has a whimsical look to it (below, right). There is even a wishing well!
