Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Lion King Section Family Suite Detailed Room Tour, Little Mermaid Section Update with King Triton & More – Photos and Video

Hi everyone!

In keeping with our updates of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, we stayed one night in a Lion King suite. Mufasa and Simba are on a notepad outside of the building (below, left). As with all of the family suites, there is a living area, a dining area, and one bedroom. The suites sleep six. Zazu is on the headboard, surrounded by the sun – which continues into the comforter! Please click HERE for all of our past coverage of this exciting new resort dating back to it’s beginnings as Disney’s Pop Century Legendary Years Resort.

Giraffes from the “I Just Can’t Wait to be King” number in the Lion King appear from behind the couch in the living room (below, left). The living space also features two small coffee tables, a chair, and a dresser drawer set with television. The drawers (below, left) have an unusual cut to them, with uneven borders.

Each family suite has a kitchenette (below, left), with a mini-refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. We always enjoyed a couple of meals in the Landscape of Flavors food court, but like to bring a meal from home to enjoy in the room.  There are unique lighting fixtures (below, right) in each section of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.

A Hidden Mickey (below, left) is seen in the carpet. Mickeys and bugs are scattered throughout! On the top of the coffee tables, there are the words to two Lion King songs. The first is “Hakuna Matata“, the second “I Just Can’t Wait to be King” (below, right).

Pumba and Timon (below, left) are featured on the shower curtain in one of the bathrooms. Guests can buy this curtain for $99.95 at the Ink and Paint Shop! A beautiful view of the sun is on the tile (below, right).

The dining room table (below, left) allows for 4 guests to dine comfortably in chairs that look like leaves. When it’s time for bed, the bed folds down over the table (below, right). We also have full coverage of the Cars section rooms and Finding Nemo section rooms.

Simba is on the scene in back of the bed (below, left). We actually found this bed to be more comfortable than in the bedroom, though it’s easy to hear guests in the hallway. The couch also pulls out into a bed (below, right) without difficulty. You can find instructions at the end of the bed!

Video #1 – Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Lion King Complete Room Tour, Walt Disney World – Value Suite – We stayed the first public night at Disney’s Art of Animation Lion King section (we also have a detailed exterior tour on our channel – see links below). This is a look at the room, complete with living area, bedroom, kitchenette, dining area and 2 bathrooms! You’ll even see Hidden Mickeys in the carpet! Timon and Pumba are on the shower curtain and more!

The Little Mermaid section construction has changed some since we’d been the week previous. The fish surrounding Ariel and Flounder (below, left) have filled in. Denise found a great angle for close-up views of King Triton (below, right).

King Triton (below, left) will look down on guests in the Little Mermaid courtyard. Ursula (below, right) is on the other side, appearing to be up to no good! The Little Mermaid section will have standard rooms only, just as the Pop Century and All Star Resorts do. The remainder of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is comprised of family suites.

Here is a view of Ursula (below, right) in front of a guest building. And looking into the Courtyard, a fork (dinglehopper) and treasure chest can be seen (below, right). The Little Mermaid section of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort opens to the public on September 15th, 2012!

Video #2 – Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Little Mermaid Preview – King Triton, Ariel, Ursula – Disney World – We took a walk to the other side of Hourglass Lake yesterday to see a different view of King Triton in the Little Mermaid section at Disney’s Art of Animation resort!  You get a good idea of what he looks like in the courtyard, along with video and photos of Ursula, Ariel, and the Flippin’ Fins Pool from our normal filming locations. There is even a beautiful rainbow! Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Little Mermaid section opens to the public on September 15th, 2012.
