We recently spent one night (two full days) at Disney’s Beach Club Resort in Concierge. We were able to snag a great deal on the room, and had a wonderful time relaxing. Our view from our room was of a courtyard (below, left) and of the Boardwalk area. The view of the Boardwalk was even better from the Flying Jib slide at Stormalong Bay (below, right).
We loved swimming in Stormalong Bay (below left and right), which is a sand-bottom pool with a lazy river. While some construction was happening at the time on a bridge, it didn’t effect the pool very much.
The lazy river is as high as 6 feet in places, and Flounder lets guests know to watch their step into the deep water (below, left). Stormalong Bay (below, right) is like a mini water park, the most popular pool on Disney property. Guests with room keys have wristbands added before entering into the pool area.
Video #1 – Disney’s Beach Club Resort Stormalong Bay POV Pool Tour Including Slide, Lazy River, Underwater – This is a swimmers POV pool tour of Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, including the slide and lazy river (even underwater)!
A friend lent me his Go-Pro Hero2 camera to take photos and video in and around the water, including of the Flying Jib slide (below, left). I took photos going down the slide as well (below, right).
I arrive at the bottom of the slide (below, left). Denise and I relax in the pool (below, right). This was only my second time in Stormalong Bay, and I hope we’ll be back again in the near future!
Video #2 – Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort Slide at Stormalong Bay (Flying Jib) Walt Disney World POV – We took the plunge on the slide at Stormalong Bay (called the Flying Jib), at Disney’s Beach Club Resort during a recent visit.
The concierge level is on the 5th floor (below, left). Guests put their key into a slot in the elevator, which will then trigger the 5th floor button. Two concierge desks (below, right) are normally occupied and busy, but are empty after 10pm until the early morning.
There was a nice variety of food offerings. Both nights, cheese and crackers were part of the evening service (below, left and right) from 5pm – 7pm. While this is not meant to be dinner, there was enough food for many guests to make a meal.
A potato dish was served (below, left), as were scallops wrapped in bacon (below, right). Everything we had was excellent. The appetizers were different each night, as were the desserts.
Wine (below, left) and beer are served at the evening food service. There are two televisions, including the one for adults (below, right) behind these chairs. The lounge is intimate, but there was always enough seating for guests when we were in there.
Cordials including Kahlua are served from 8pm – 10pm, along with a small dessert selection. Each night, two different mini-desserts are offered (below, right). In addition to the cordials, a hot beverage machine is available for most of the day whichserves hot chocolate, coffee, hot water, and much more with the push of a button.
Video #3 – Disney’s Beach Club Resort – Club Level Lounge Tour – Stone Harbor Concierge Walt Disney World – This is the Stone Harbor Concierge lounge at Disney’s Beach Club resort, including photos and video of food offerings.
We were in room 5632 (below, left), and were happy to find a Mickey head made from towels on one of the beds (below, right).
Our room consisted of two queen beds (below left and right), along with a chair, desk, and small table. Two robes were delivered to our room. The H20 product offerings were expanded, and included mouthwash and solar relief gel.
We enjoyed a few hours on our balcony (below, left). It was worth the very nominal additional few dollars to upgrade from the standard view room to garden view (below, right).
Video #4 – Disney’s Beach Club Resort Concierge Club Level Room 5632 Tour – We stayed recently for one night at Disney’s Beach Club Resort in the Concierge/Club Level, room 5632. This is what our room and view from the balcony looked like. (the video starts in the hallway)
We ate one meal away from the lounge, and that was at the Captain’s Grille (below, left) for lunch. I enjoyed a chicken sandwich (below, right), with a side of orzo. We highly enjoyed our time at Disney’s Beach Club Resort and I recommend the Stone Harbor Club level for special occasions! One of our bonuses was seeing La Nouba – we met a couple on the first day, and they gave us their Cirque Du Soleil tickets the next morning as the wife was sick. We really appreciated this gesture, although it’d have been nice if this wonderful couple had been able to see Cirque themselves. It was my first time and now I can’t wait to see it again!
