D-Street at Downtown Disney, Mexico Cantina Construction and Ridley Pearson at Epcot – Photos and Video

Hi everyone!

D-Street (bottom, left) opened last week – we missed the Annual Passholder event (actually, we didn’t know about it until after it happened!), but it was fun to stop by and have a look around at all the Disney treasures from places like the Adventurers Club, such as the zebra display case (below, right).

The Wicked Witch (below, left) was brought from the New York World of Disney (in it’s original location, below right).

A somewhat “Hidden Mickey” appears in brick behind the register (below, left) and a monkey holds Vinylmation figures in it’s hands (below, right).

There is a coloring table for children with hundreds of Vinylmation figures inside, as well as a Vinylmation Mickey Mouse on top (below, left). You can also see a Vinylmation sign in the background. The store is mostly dedicated to Vinylmation (below, right), but there are some other items as well.

Vinylmation figures in the table (below, left) and Mickey Mouse’s head up close (below, right).

Star Wars figures sit on this Cinderella themed display (below, left) and a “Do Not Hang Anything Off This Pipe” sign hangs off a pipe (below, right):)

Mannequins model clothing (below, left) and an old-time cash register is part of the decor (below, right). We were told by a friend that the cash register has been in storage for quite some time, and possibly was from Epcot.

A suit of armor from the Adventurers Club with Mickey’s head atop (below, left)  You can see the same suit of armor was at the Adventurers Club with a fish in its hand in it’s original location (below, right).

A bust (I think of Mozart) also was at the Adventurers Club, you can see it in D-Street (below, left) and at the Club (below, right).

This peacock from the Adventurers Club sits aloft (below, left) in D-Street.  It was in the main room at the Adventurers Club (below, right).

This unique zebra display case (below, left) now holds Vinylmation pieces.  Prior, the zebra was at the Adventurers Club (below, right, but in two pieces (in two different locations).

The Colonel makes his Vinylmation debut as part of the newest boxed set. He is the chaser in Park Series #4 (below left and right).

Books – with travel titles, no doubt also a part of Adventurers Club history – sit behind Mickey on a shelf (below, left). Mickey Mouse plays a rock star on the wall (below, right).

A locker hold Vinylmation pieces while Pluto stays in the background (below, left). The D-Street logo is part of the window decor (below, right).

Bonus Video – D-Street – New Store with Vinylmation, Downtown Disney – This video is of the newly opened store at Downtown Disney, D-Street. Items from the former Adventurers Club and the World of Disney in New York City are part of the decor.

The new Cantina in Mexico is coming along, rising above the facade (below, left) and outwards into the water (below, right).

A boat rests in the water below the construction (below, left) and wood planks hold up poles (below, right).

Ridley Pearson made an appearance to sign books at Mousegear for a couple of hours at Epcot. We just missed being able to get in line, the signing appears to have been quite popular (below left and right).

Pearson was promoting his book Kingdom Keepers III: Disney in Shadow. Pearson greets a guest  (below, left) and smiles for the cameras (below, right).

One Man’s Dream was a beloved stage show that also ran for 4 months in 1990 before making way for Dick Tracy’s Diamond Double Cross. Performed at the Videopolis theater, this show celebrated the remarkable imagination of Walt Disney. This is a show not to be missed!
