Hi everyone!
What a beautiful day, after the freeze that we’ve had here in Florida! Christmas is just heading out of the Magic Kingdom, the tree is up today but the dream lights are being taken down from the Cinderella Castle (below left and right).
The moat is almost finished draining for work that is to be done on the front area of the castle(below left and right).
Windows around the Emporium are now featuring Disney characters without the Christmas theme (below left). A Mickey and Minnie display stands in the Emporium (below, right).
It’s 345 days until Christmas! (below, left). Mickeys house in what is likely to be it’s last Christmas in Mickey’s Toontown Fair (below, right).
Blizzard Beach is undergoing refurbishment through March 20th (below left and right). Both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach close in winter during different times so there is always one water park open – as long as the weather is good. Typhoon Lagoon just reopened for guests after it’s rehab.
Summit Plummet goes unused (below, left). Ice Gator (the Blizzard Beach mascot) is welcoming visitors to the park (below, right).
The Coronado Springs Dig Site is closed for rehab, including the jacuzzi and pool bar (below, left). Have you ever seen the Hidden Mickey on the side of the Mayan Temple? (below, right).
The Dig Site is scheduled to reopen on January 31st (below, left). The slide is shown (below, right).
The Uzima feature pool at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is also under rehab, although both jacuzzi’s are open (below left and right).
The slide is seen covered (below, left). The jacuzzi’s were empty but open (below, right).
Bonus Video – Epcot Entranceway, January 14th 2010 (Post-Christmas) – The entrance to Epcot after the Christmas music was switched back to the regular. The topiaries have been down for a week or so.
The photo of the covered plants (below, left) was taken last week – it looked like snow! You can see that the plants seemed to have fared well with the covering (below, right).
Unfortunately, many plants didn’t do well around the Walt Disney World resort (below, left). There is a sign saying that Jack Frost had visited and there will be replanting soon. The Christmas tree at Epcot is now gone, and Epcot will soon be gearing this area up for the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival (below, right).
A new facade has gone up at Cantina de San Angel (below, left) as well as higher walls. This work is scheduled through fall. Spaceship Earth is seen in the background (below, right).
