Production Update & DVD Cover Sneak Preview – Disneyland Class of 1955 and Disneyland Class of 1959 Featuring The Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.

JeffLangeDVD Production Update: I am working very hard on my new
series of DVDs featuring the attractions from special years at the theme
parks. The first of these titles will be
Jeff Lange Presents Disneyland Class of 1955
. This will feature all
the attractions that are still in operation from Disneyland’s opening
year as they exist today. This has been a very fun and exciting project
for me. I love the concept of seeing how Walt’s vision of Disneyland
in 1955 holds up today over fifty years later!

I am also in production of
Jeff Lange Presents Disneyland Class of 1959
. This will feature the
e-ticket attractions from Disneyland’s first major addition in 1959. The
major attractions to the park that year were the ‘Matterhorn Bobsleds
‘, ‘The Disneyland Monorail’ and the ‘Submarine Voyage‘. As
most of you already know, at Disneyland this year the subs are back as a
brand new attraction Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage‘! I
have just returned from two weeks at Disneyland where I recorded six
complete Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage ride thru’s plus full exterior
coverage and detailed photography. I hope the result will be the very
best representation of this great new attraction possible!

Below is a sneak preview
of the DVD covers for these new projects. I hope to have the first title
Jeff Lange Presents
Disneyland Class of 1955
‘ ready to release very soon. Please check
back at the beginning of the week for release information and more
details
.

Photo Memories: Epcot Center's The Land Pavilion Featuring Kitchen Kabaret Plus Epcot's 25th Anniversary Display At The Walt Disney Archives.

Hello everyone.  Welcome back for more photo memories featuring Epcot’s The Land Pavilion and the great new Epcot 25th Anniversary display at the Walt Disney Archives.

The above shot is a vintage photo from the late 1980’s before the landscape had fully grown in. Note the name of the revolving resturant in the above image. It was originally known as ‘The Good Turn Restaurant‘ (October 1, 1982 – May 1, 1986) before the name was changed to ‘The Land Grille Room‘ (May 2, 1986 – November 15, 1993). In late 1993 it finally changed to the current name ‘The Garden Grill‘.

Above are some great vintage images of the Epcot Center opening day audio-animatronic show The Kitchen Kabaret. The above photos are from the following numbers: ‘Chase Those (Meal
Time) Blues Away
‘ by Bonnie Appetite and the Kitchen Krackpots and ‘The Stars of the Milky Way‘ by Dairy Goods and his Stars of the Milky Way.

Probably the most memorable segment from the show was ‘Veggie Veggie Fruit Fruit‘ (above) performed by Colander Combo and the Fiesta Fruit. I remember I always got a laugh out of the way the broccoli singer would raise his glasses to emphasise the cha cha cha at the end of the chorus! Here he is (above right) on display at the Walt Disney Archives in Burbank California. The Kitchen Kabaret closed January 3, 1994.

The archives have added a fantastic new display to the entrance lobby commemorating Epcot’s 25th anniversary including these great early concept sculptures of Hamm (from Hamm & Eggz) and the Boogie Woogie Bakery Boy also from the Kitchen Kaberet show. Please keep checking back for more photos from this great display.

Jeff Lange Remembers Epcot’s The Land Pavilion 25th Anniversary Collectors Edition is available now featuring the original ‘Listen to the Land‘, ‘Kitchen Kabaret Revue‘, Farmer’s Market scenes, ‘Food Rocks‘, ‘Living with the Land‘ and more. For more information or to order the DVD please click HERE.

California Recap, NFFC Convention, Disneyland Resort, The Walt Disney Studios, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage & More.

Hi everyone!

I have finally returned after two crazy but fun weeks in California. The trip was very productive producing over 10 hrs of video footage (including 6 complete Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage ride throughs) and almost 3000 photo images! I was also able to visit the Walt Disney Studios Lot, Walt Disney Imagineering & the IRC Art Corner exhibit, Club 33, Disney historical sites around Hollywood & Burbank and more.

The first big event was the annual N.F.F.C. National Convention. This was a great week of Disneyana overload. A special thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat at the Show & Sale on Sunday. I  really enjoyed meeting many of you who I have exchanged emails with this past year and I appreciate the feedback and suggestions for my upcoming projects!

Another highlight was meeting the very friendly Martin Klebba (Marty, the dwarf pirate from all three Pirates of the Caribbean films).

More NFFC highlights were Neal Gabler’s excellent talk on his new book, Walt Disney: The Triumph of the American Imagination. I really enjoyed hearing how he sort of became Walt Disney like after spending so much time in Walt’s head during the research for the book. Another fantastic presentation was the character voice panel. Below from left are:

Eddie Carroll
(Jiminy Cricket),
Susanne Blakeslee
(Cruella De Ville, Maleficent),
Bill Farmer
(Goofy), Suzy Lum,
Corey Burton
(Ludwig Von Drake),
Tony Anselmo
(Donald Duck),
Russi Taylor
(Minnie Mouse) &
Wayne Allwine
(Mickey Mouse).

This was a historic event to have all this top voice talent in the same room and I could have listened to their stories for hours.

I was especially impressed with the decor and mood of the Haunted Mansion themed banquet on Friday the 13th. Great food and the comedy of Dana Daniels made for a spooky fun evening.

In an upcoming photo update I will showcase the great new Epcot display at the Walt Disney Archives. Below are some teaser photos of this wonderful exhibit.

Production Update:

I am still working on Epcot’s The Land Featuring the original ‘Listen to the Land’, The ‘Kitchen Kabaret Revue’, Farmer’s Market scenes, ‘Food Rocks’, ‘Living with the Land’ and more. I will also be debuting a new series of Titles featuring the attractions from special years at the parks. The first of these titles will be Jeff Lange Presents Disneyland’s Class of 1955. This will feature all the attractions that are still in operation from  Disneyland’s opening year as the exist presently. Finally, be sure to check out my latest release Disneyland’s 45th Anniversary available now. Click HERE for more information or to order this great new title.

JeffLangeDVD hits the road, NFFC Disneyana National Convention, Disneyland Resort and More.

Hi everyone. It’s that time of the year again for me to travel to
California for the NFFC Disneyana
National Convention. The convention
schedule
has just been released and you can read it
here
. I will be attending the entire convention and will have a table at
the giant NFFC Disneyana Show and Sale on Sunday July 15th at the
Crowne Plaza Hotel and Resort
(12921 Harbor Blvd. Garden Grove, CA). If
you are attending, please stop by and say hello. I look forward to
meeting everyone! I will also be opening my room at the convention hotel
for room hopping on Saturday July 14th. For more information about the
NFFC
please click here.

Next on the agenda will be celebrating Disneyland’s 52nd Birthday,
July 17th. This is always a highlight of the convention for me as I am a
die hard theme park enthusiast known to close the parks at any and all
opportunities.

My Disneyland birthday
tradition is to enjoy the park with friends and ride all the original
opening day attractions from 1955. I don’t always make them all but I
have a great time trying.

I will of course be recording video for upcoming DVD projects including
the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer
Island
, The Jedi Training Academy and more. I am also
recording classic Disneyland
attractions for a new series to debut in early 2008.

As always, while I am traveling you will still receive the same level of
quality service and guarenteed 24 hr shipping you have come to expect
from JeffLangeDVD.

Praise from the Epcot Center Imagination Pavilion's Original Dreamfinder!

What a start to my weekend. I had the great honor to find the following
note in my email!

Jeff —

My name is Ron Schneider. I was the first and original strolling
Dreamfinder & Figment at
Journey Into Imagination
from ’82 to ’87, and I was the official
voice for the Dreamfinder (after Chuck McCann was "let go".)

I’m writing you because I have just received and glanced through your
video tribute to my old stomping grounds and couldn’t let another minute
go by without thanking you and congratulating you on a sterling job!!

Your footage, editing, sound, color and comprehensive coverage really
took me back to the old ride and I’ll be using this great production for
years to come to demonstrate the old show to people (always giving the
credit to JeffLangeDVD,
of course)!

Thanks again for all your hard work,

Ron Schneider

Photos above provided by Ron Schneider as the original Dreamfinder
(with Figment of course) in the early years of the Imagination pavilion.

I really appreciate his kind words about my
Journey Into Imagination
DVD, especially from someone who appreciates and
contributed so much to the history of Epcot Center! Thanks to Ron
Schneider for providing so much happiness as the original Dreamfinder. I
really wish the Dreamfinder was still with us in the parks today.
