We spent an afternoon visiting the displays around the Epcot resorts – including Disney’s Beach Club, Disney’s Yacht Club, and Disney’s Boardwalk Resorts – we’ll be sharing the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort displays in another post! The Beach Club gingerbread carousel (below, left) is back for a 13th year, flanked by 3 smaller displays. “Splash”, the name of the horse that is next to the carousel (below, right) has Cinderella Castle on top of it.
Another display features the Yacht & Beach Club lighthouse (below, left) and it looks like the shipwrecked boat as well. Captain Jack Sparrow (below, right) is intricately designed and featured here too. At the base of the carousel are characters such as Mickey and Tinker Bell.
Video #1 – Disney’s Beach Club Holiday Gingerbread Carousel w/ Captain Jack Sparrow, Minnie, Mickey, Tink – Each year, Disney’s Beach Club Resort features a gingerbread carousel with horses that have names indicating their theme (like this year, the red, white and blue adorned horse is named Patriot). You’ll find hidden Mickeys, a silhouette Mickey, and much more! In the displays around the carousel, you’ll find Minnie Mouse and Captain Jack Sparrow! At the base of the carousel are characters such as Mickey and Tinker Bell.
At Disney’s Yacht Club Resort (below, left), a nautical theme sets sail. Large and small boats are used as ornaments in the Christmas trees and wreaths (below, right).
There is a train display again this year (below, left), with some differences from previous years. One noticeable change is the addition of Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater (below, right), ready for Christmas! The other side is a seaside village! You’ll notice that the different sections of the Yacht Club Resort are mentioned in signs
Video #2 – Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Holiday Train Display – w/ Disney Characters – Mater, Lightning McQueen – This is the Yacht Club Resort holiday train display! One side of the display is dedicated more to characters and their environments, such as Mickey Mouse, Tow Mater and Lighting McQueen. The other side is a seaside village! You’ll notice that the different sections of the Yacht Club Resort are mentioned in signs.
Each year, a Christmas tree adorns the courtyard of Disney’s Boardwalk Resort (below, left). We weren’t expecting to like the Boardwalk display more than any of the others, but the resort really outdid itself! A part of the festive display features Donald Duck hanging with his rear being roasted (below, right).
During the last couple of years, Stitch was actually with Donald in the gingerbread display. This year, he’s on top of the house that sells stollen and gingerbread houses (below, left). The house even has a sign telling guests not to eat from the house itself, since that has been a problem in the past! I expected there to be fences keep guests away from the side of the house, and there is – but they used the fencing to create a lovely, decorative holiday presentation (below, right). There is even a Star Wars reference!
Video #3 – Disney’s Boardwalk Resort Gingerbread Display – Stitch, Donald, Chip & Dale, Star Wars Reference! – This is the Boardwalk gingerbread display this year, bigger than ever! It includes Stitch on top of the gingerbread house that sells goodies, along with Donald Duck having his bottom roasted. Behind the display is Chip & Dale, and there is even a reference to Star Wars in the name tags – “To Leia, From Han”! Look for the hidden Mickeys!
