Epcot International Food & Wine Festival 2011, Full Tour Including Entrance Decor, Topiary, Food, Eat To The Beat Concert Series & More – Photos and Video

Hi everyone!

We spent Tuesday at Epcot for the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival (below, left), the theme this year is Passport to a World of Flavors (below, left). Suitcases are also part of the scenery both on the way into the park, and out (below, right).

The Information Booth has a Food and Wine Festival logo (below, left). We enjoyed the “Discover the Cranberry” exhibit, which was sponsored by Ocean Spray (below, right).

An employee wades into the cranberry “bog” in view of Spaceship Earth (below, left). The color of the cranberries look very vibrant! Donald and Daisy (below, right) also look ready to take a trip.

We picked up this passport at a Disney Vacation Club booth (below, left), and I enjoyed a Kona Pipeline Porter from the Hawaii booth – new for 2011 (below, right), 6 ounces for $2.75.

We purchased a Dessert Trio from the Desserts & Champagne booth for $3.75 (below, left). My favorite was the Lemon Chiffon, and Denise raved about the Tres Leches Verrine (below, right).

Duffy the Disney Bear is now a chef (below, left). We didn’t go to Ireland, but they do have a Warm Chocolate Lava Cake that we enjoyed last year, and we’ll likely pick it up during our next walk around the Festival (below, right).

Our friend Jennifer purchased the Escargots Persillade en Brioche in France (below, left and right). She thought it looked like Mickey Mouse!

Denise and I sampled the Mohua Central Otago Riesling (below, left). I liked it, Denise did but felt it was a bit too strong of a flavor for riesling. We then went to the Singapore booth to try the Beef Rendang (below, right), which is a coconut braised beef. This is a spicy dish, which was fine with me – Denise loved the flavor, but not the amount of spice.

Denise took a photo of the Epcot Food and Wine Festival banner with Spaceship Earth in the background (below, left). Our next stop was Germany, and we each bought a food item (below, right).

Denise tried the Goulash Soup for $3.50, you can see that there are two cups due to how hot the goulash was (below, left). She liked it, and it’s spurred her on to make goulash at home this week. And we had a lot of laughs over the Nuerenberger Sausage in a Pretzel Roll, which was maybe 3 times the size of the bun (below, right).

One of our favorite booths was Scandinavia (below, left). This was Denise’s favorite item of the night – Swedish Meatballs with Lingonberries for $3.50 (below, right). The berries reminded her of cranberry suace.

Epcot has a great concert series through the Festival, called Eat to the Beat. We first saw 38 Special (below, left and right) here last year, and they put on a great show! If you are heading to to the Festival, check the schedule for artist information!

We enjoy 38 Special so much that we stayed for a second show (below, left). The last concert of the night always seems to be a bit more lively (below, right).

After the show, we tried the Rice Pudding with Driscoll’s Only berries (below, left). This is like the Rice Cream at Norway, not really like what most guests would consider rice pudding. We enjoyed it, the berries really tasted great! The last sample of the night was the Lamingtom cake for $3.00 at Australia It reminded me of the School Bread in Norway, but without cream (below, right).

We enjoyed Illuminations: reflections of Earth from a fantastic spot near the Port of Entry (below, left). There is a new tip board that is quite bright (below, right), and had Food and Wine Festival tips listed. All in all, a great first day to the Festival!
